Spoke exactly to the evolution of the GOP and now it has led straight to them having a misogynistic, racist, rapist felon as their presumptive front-runner. He belongs in a jail cell not on a ballot. Pat Robertson was just a step on the path toward Trump. What he lacked in the resource of money and influence, Donald used to his advantage to brainwash millions of voters into believing he’s actually a qualified leader. He is a literal fascist.

I read a lot of airheads misinterpreting Zappa's words. He's referring to people that use a façade of religion to push compulsive policy to everyone, and that's exactly what UN Agenda 2030 is doing nowadays with its compulsive commitment on governments and organisations.

I like his music but his views are quite literally an inversion of reality, possibly from his experiences in Hollywood. To suggest, in seriousness, that the united states and the media at large were becoming more right wing or fascist blah blah blah (everyone I don't like is a fascist mentality) in those days too, demonstrates that he was utterly out of touch with reality. Most people today who self-identify as conservative fully adopt the views of classical liberalism in a reaction to the decades long slip to the left that the country has been and is still going though which began in the late 50s. The very powerful "leftists" who seek to remain in power argue that a reduction in personal freedom, racially and sexually unbiased hiring practices, and freedom of speech are detrimental to society (really what they mean is it poses a threat to their grasp on power). Sure, you can try to delegitimize the reaction by pointing the camera to some crazy and insignificant nutbag but that nutbag and his or her friends are strongly rejected by and large in the new anti-war, anti-discrimination, pro-working class "make America great again" right. The movement isn't perfect, but continues to evolve. You know how people say that "the parties flipped" in the past....well it's happening again today and that's ok: the country is healing itself. In a way, Zappa was correct in predicting that society was becoming more religious but in a broken clock kind of way. Society today is not religious in the classic theological sense but in an ideological sense: disagree with the status quo, and get smeared as a heretic. Think about any topic (not religion based, and there are many of them) that you cannot discuss publicly without fear. That is the new state religion. If you read my entire comment, you're my hero. Please feel free to use your freedom of speech to tell my why (if) you strongly disagree with something I said and explain why I'm wrong if so.

Well, I was aware of what Frank Zappa explained in this interview, before I knew this interview existed and ……. ……. as long as the GOP is using „Business“ as a modern form of Slavery, disguised as something, that’s supposed to be social, giving, graceful act of love, kindness and dignity, ever pretending how ultimately selfless their offerings to the people are, they’re not doing their job well or good! They are all about making profit and gaining/ maintaining power and when their strategies and tactics don’t work, they pull the „religious card“! Ultimately and all around disgusting, despicable, evil and corrupt! I truly hope God, Jesus Christ, the holy Spirit and Heaven exist, as it is my most inner belief, that all those pseudo-religious „believers“, no matter their religion, will get ultimate punishment on Judgement Day! It's a twofold possibility for a "fascist theocracy" to be established right now in the U.S.: on the one hand, 'Project 2025', the blatantly explicit one supported by "christians"... But, on the other, the issue is no less worrisome: the preachers that try to evangelize through the gospel of "equality" and against "oppression", presenting things like "critical race theory" as undisputed facts -which is not at all, off course-. On one side, they deny Climate Change; on the other, biology. I feel so sorry for those "living" in America right now... 😬

Frank Zappa was aware of the businessman Donald Trump and briefly referred to him in an interview in 1989: How have you managed to keep your integrity while becoming a successful businessman? Zappa: "It's really easy. All you have to do is decide you don't want to be one of those guys. You don't make as much money, but you can certainly live well enough." I think that's a very good indicator of the failure of US education. In 2016 during Trump's election campaign to become the President of the United States, Moon was asked what her father may have thought about Trump: Given your dad's low opinion of politicians and pompous people, I have to close by asking what you think he'd make of Donald Trump. Moon Zappa: "The thing I will say (about Trump) is just because you have no one to answer to, it doesn't mean that you should be the person to be in charge of things. My father always said respect is something to be earned. It doesn't matter if you're the pope or a police officer or a teacher, it has to be earned. And you also have to be reasonable and think of the greatest good for the greatest number of people and to consider differences and really take that seriously.
