Great demo. I just bought one of these for myself today with a helios 4x12. I'm really excited. I want it more for the mid-gain sounds and dynamics, but it seems like an all around perfect 10.

Nice! Thanks. I was also wondering "How is he getting that sound from humbuckers" and then I noticed that they're P90's. Reminded me of Steve Khan's great sound on Steely Dan's Aja, which was a Tele with original Wide Range Humbuckers. One of my favorite recorded guitar tones ever. Whose P90's are they? I'll buy those.

I meet Pat Travers a couple of times, when he was playing on locations all over the world. I had the change to ask him my questions- backstage, which has been coming up to me, when I was a kid looking at his album covers. At that time we where sittin´ with Carmine Appice and T.M. Stevens (who made an unbelievable show) . The Chorus sound a lot of times has been an organ leslie, which Pat was using Live and in Studio. I borrowed one at that time and it was horrible heavy and loud gadget. It made this special chorus-like sound but different. It was back in fully analog times....

Hi Jeffery, thanks for the video, great tones! I see that you are using a preset on the Lion. Is it one of the UA presets from the app, or did you make your own preset? If so, what settings do you use for your les paul clean tone? Thanks!
@JefferyJMarshall
@JefferyJMarshall 2 ай бұрын
I made my own cleanish sound and stored it as a preset that way it would always be the same when I fire up the pedal…
@Irg1570
@Irg1570 2 ай бұрын
I own the Lion and , when I bought it, I thought I would be using the drive a lot. While the drive sounds great, it's limiting when you want to switch between clean and dirt in a song. So, I use it mostly the way you do. I'm very happy with it. Thanks for the video. now I know I'm not alone. lol.

Ya it’s a trade off. The tone I feel is better than the all in one units but then you have to add effects around it…
@GuyNarnarian
@GuyNarnarian 2 ай бұрын
I mean, the presets are great, you can set your live setting clean and use an overdriven preset, it can get a smooth distortion, fuzzy distortion, whatever. A pedalboard definitely gives you more flexibility though. It is a great amp pedal that's for sure.

Hi, can you help clarify something for me on the W-H diminished? While in Cmi, can I play C diminished whole half starting from the root? Now when I play the half whole diminished, is it also from the C root?
@JefferyJMarshall
@JefferyJMarshall 2 ай бұрын
Yes both will work over a Cm chord but give different extensions or “outside” sounds. Best thing to do is to write out the notes of each scale and see how they contrast against the chord.. hope that helps!
@harryyoung3247
@harryyoung3247 2 ай бұрын
@@JefferyJMarshall, I asked cuz C half whole diminished scale have the Cmin triad notes, C, Eb & G, as well as other minor scale notes but also have the outside diminished notes. But, a C harmonic minor scale also works in C min key with the #7, so a C whole half diminished scale fits into that space, that's why it's confusing to me. I've tried to play both and they both seemed to fit but one of my educated musician friends suggested starting it a ½ step down from the root and play half whole, which confused me cuz wouldn't it be the same as starting at root and going whole half?🤔
