I noticed that most female bullies I met in my job life were older women (+10 years senior to me). Unattractive on the outside, insecure on the inside. Once a younger and maybe talented co-worker comes into the team they feel threatened that their experience and knowhow may no longer be the only source of wisdom in their department. Recently I had a "test day" in an office to get an impression what they do. The very unfriendly lady sat next to me when I was about to type something into the computer. I was mumbling something to myself and she very agressively repremanded me, "Could you also do that without babbling ?" She herself babbled when she was thinking about something but I got that shot right away...as a job candidate. Her colleague was just as bad. I was happy they showed their ugly behaviour right away....they then rejected me for the job and I was told from the boss it was "not a match on their side". Well, not on mine either. That was toxic beyond what is normal.

This is every woman’s issue. This goes beyond the workplace. We have to have self-awareness and the ability to have difficult conversations. I saw this behavior in 2016 when Hillary Clinton ran for president . I saw it again in 2024 with Kamala Harris. We have to stand behind each other. We have to stand beside each other. We have to do better as women. I’m a girls girl. I also stand up for myself and have learned how to have difficult conversation conversations. I’ve had male bosses and female bosses who have acted out with bad behaviors. I currently have two female bosses. We have our challenges and we have our differences. I make every opportunity for our conversations to be productive and transparent. That’s what I bring to the table. As a woman, I am just as responsible as my leaders are. Let’s support each other. Let’s do better.

I have left a phd program and a wonderful job as well during my 5 years of hellish perimenopause. I have a new job now but I shouldn’t have had to suffer. Firstly understanding why you don’t have the energy and motivation and mental strength you used to have is challenge one. Then finding a treatment that works is the next problem and can take months! You can’t take 6 months off work while you find the right level of treatment such as HRT, so you have no choice but to leave. Doctors firstly don’t offer help and then are too cautious and controlling with dosing. I knew I needed a higher dose but it took months to actually get it 😱

Where l work, we recently received a memo that we all were able to leave early on the following Friday. We were advised to enlist, if we wished to be part of the skeleton group that would be responsible for staying on and manning the office till close of play. I did not enlist, as l'd been put down for it the time before. On the Friday in question, l was called an hour before the early leaving time and asked by a teammate if l knew that l was staying late for the skeleton force. I said no and that l already had a appointment. She told me that she was not aware that l didn't want to stay late. I asked her why l am the only employee who has to tell them that l DON'T want to stay late. She had no answer, but stormed off. I heard later that she actually asked a colleague if l'd done any work at all that day.

The last time I tried to make an extra payment online towards my student loan principal, there was no longer an option. I called and was rold when I make rhe payment it will decide amongst all of the loans, and the interest only at this point. So basically i would no longer be able to pay extra towards the principal. Is this even legal?

I can handle upfront direct to my face bullying & stand my ground but when it seems like psychological games or I was laughed at & called stupid bc I didn’t catch on & they enjoyed deceiving me….the aftermath stays with you too long…sometimes indefinitely….the feeling that someone you think is a friend (doesn’t even have to be a close friend) has been sneaky or deceiving & invades your privacy it just hurts & feels so intensely Humiliating & it breaks your trust in people even when you forgive bc you think you may have misunderstood some things or you may have unknowingly hurt them you still become paranoid thinking it’s a few in the office out to get you & you continue to feel triggered & overthinking starts up again…it’s HELL then bc now you really feel on the outside….

Thank you from Switzerland. Very nice interview, well structured and conducted. I've been decluttering most of my life as I have moved a lot and don't like to carry stuff I don't like (no paid movers for 95% of those moves). At 54, it started to become even more important to me than before, to very seriously curb the semi-unconscious bringing in of new things to "perfect" the new places, after letting go of things that didn't work or fit. At 56 now, I'm officially doing a full "no/low-buy year", spending money almost only on experiences instead of things (l'm lucky to be able to choose that). This conversation has added some new ways for me to look at curating and decluttering my home. I appreciate that very much. You're both wonderful ladies and I love the way you thoughtfully and full of caring and kindness presented this subject.

Ive worked in the field for a long time. Its women like me who paved the way for the others. For decades, there were few women in industrial occupations, or commercial driving, so the mean girl thing was rare. Just my opinion here, but up until Title Nine, which supported athletics for girls, girls didnt participate in team sports. They never learned to work with teammates and put aside personal beefs. So, female management might have a "clique" of favored employees and shut others out. Men, especially have been victims of this prejudice. Think eighth grade, and the group of "cool girls", the rest of us called "the herd" And then theres the underhanded, passive aggressive remarks. Honestly Ive only met one women worthy of being good management. Someday that will change. Title Nine has had a beneficial effect on our girls. Competition is good for success. Teamwork wins ballgames. Working for the collective is a skill the ladies are starting to learn. Generally, i do well with male management, in a union shop. They are direct, and i know right where i stand. Private industry are the worst offenders, without a union to keep things fair. I simply wouldnt work for private industry. Im retired now, something that wouldnt have been possible in a non union workplace. Sorry people, it is what it is.

I’ve wondered this too and the concern I have going with someone not associated with a large company is the fiduciary might mismanage or even steal money they are supposed to manage. If someone worked for a large company and did this, I assume the company would make everything right. I tell myself this is probably nonsense, but it is the thing that holds me back. And I know big companies likely won’t have my best interest as their top priority.

You do realize that this is a prank, riiite???? A man is a solid financial plan in this day and age, as "she" gets everything after divorce. I can't believe i have to say that again. You boomer are so old and out of touch with the real world. The point of the prank is, she doesn't spend HER income! She spends his and hers!
@fdm2155Ай бұрын
LOL you're the one who's out of touch if you think divorce is some sort of windfall for the average divorced woman. Reality? Her economic level often drops while his rises. In part because if they have children, she likely stepped away from work to provide the child care. Meaning she lost out on years of income, retirement savings and experience in the field. If they don't have children and she's working full time, assuming she makes significantly less, she might get short term alimony. Median HOUSEHOLD income in the US is less than $75K/year. So, it's no surprised most divorcees aren't walking away with a fortune. More likely they're splitting debt, not assets.
