This franchise should be proof to all adaptations that listening and appealing to the fans is always the right choice. Sonic 3 is the perfect Sonic movie, and it was only possible because of fans criticizing the first trailer. Sonic fans are weird and annoying at times. But for once thank you for saving this trilogy and making it the best it can be.

Ridley Scott came out of the gate with three legitimately GREAT movies, very little of note since. Choosing to pick up the pace has made his work worse, in my opinion. Outside of the occasional strong effort (Black Hawk Down, American Gangster, The Martian), can you name a film that he’s directed in the last three decades that can match Alien or Blade Runner? Doubt it.
