Hello Michael, I was the StoreKeeper, aboard, during that time. I do remember a fellow serviceman who was known as Mike. I hope you’ve found these images of that time, helpful, in some way… I’m glad to hear there’s another Sailor of those times still out here 👍 Jim

My photo appears briefly at 013-014 on the right. Sk3. I was the only Store Keep aboard at that time. I was definitely not all that memorable, anyway. Now days my memory is “selective” at best... but wouldn’t trade the experience of those times for gold.

I was a salvage sailor aboard the USS GRAPPLE ARS7, from 76 to the last voyage until decommissioning. Adventure of a lifetime, to see what I saw as a young man. I was fortunate to see the history of the Pacific from Pearl Harbor to Subic Bay.

I was stationed aboard the The USS Grapple ARS7 to the End of decommissioning. It was an adventure of a lifetime on WestPac.
@TheJimford Жыл бұрын
Hey David, Yes Sir! An adventure of a lifetime for sure. I seem to remember hearing shipmates, divers, speak well of the USS Grapple while aboard the USS Reclaimer. I was fortunate to have gone on two westPac’s while serving in the Navy. One in 1969 1970 aboard the USS Rehoboth AGS 50 and once while aboard the USS Reclaimer ARS 42 in 1971-1972 two tours Vietnam. Thankfully they changed my life for the good…As you said, an adventure of a lifetime…never to be forgotten. May I ask, did you serve? Thanks for your view and your Service ⚓️

Do you have any pics of crew1970 reclaimer and caliber or shipboard deck gun while off coast of Danang I need help with this
@TheJimford Жыл бұрын
I’ll take a look through the slides I’d taken back then. I seem to remember at least one photo I’d taken, of a shipmate with one of the two 50 caliber machine guns. He had on a T-shirt, a cigarette tucked behind his ear, pretending to return fire…I believe we were off the coast of Danang at that time as well. I apologize for the delay in responding. Can you give me more information? I’ll look into it soon.
