This is the setup I need for a 6 inch wild snapping turtle I have that needs to stay long enough to heal a couple shell puncture injuries thanks to getting bit by a dog. There wasn't any bleeding. But the shell definitely got punctured. I can't reasonably release this turtle knowing those infection routes are there. I cleaned the wounds out (plentiful saline spray, Vetericyn, and copious amounts of water which has worked well since the wounds appear free from any signs of infection...clean). This snapper wants to leave leave leave 😅. I would gladly release this turtle on its home turf, and will do so as soon as can be. I want to do this correctly. I know enough to keep water temperature and ambient temperature like it is now outside (except my water is clean!). I haven't got this turtle to eat anything yet. I have had this turtle since 2pm Friday. I don't have a sun heat lamp yet. I know its for basking. Sun is what helps turtles absorb calcium. I can't seem to get a licensed rehabber yet. Maybe I can DIY this myself. I know exactly where the turtle came from. I just don't know how long this will be. This turtle does not want to be stuck in a confined box. It has business it wants to attend to, like now.

I hope to be able to give my lil guys such a great habitat instead of individual blue plastic kiddy pools. We have to seal the basement to avoid moisture issues and figure out the electrical set up but once we're set up we're happy to save any injured turd. Im suprised we find so many missing tails and limbs, crazy eye infections, sand mites in their shells 😢

I was wondering if you could do that! Even if the plastic broke down after a year a $20 to $60 replacement tub is nothing compared to the $500 to $1000 for a legit aquarium lol... And you can modify it with anything you need, like adding a spigot to the bottom of one side to easily drain it for cleaning, or even linking multiple together for a super tank or segregated sanctuaries... Anyone tried this long term yet that could offer some pointers?

5/9/24, I have ducks and chickens. Put small opening wire under and around edge to keep mice & rats from getting in and burrowing holes. I should have known better, I know have mice in my duck house and have to move it. Hope this helps future builders🥰

Need better access to clean this out. Like the lid on hinges or something. Also, paint the bottom before installing it maybe? Good video but needs more DIY instructions for those of us newbies working with wood. Note: I may do this for a portable rabbit hutch with a run attached.

The shopkeeper gave me goldfishes in a fishbowl I came home and did some research then found out how wrong it is...rn I have moved them into 18 ltr bucket with sponge filter...and in few months I'll move them into 40 ltr tub ? Is this okay will they survive???

OSB board will not hold up!! Rain will rot it quickly and it will start to fall apart, also you need Windows and ventilation... chickens are very susceptible to respiratory diseases!! Please read an educate yourself before you start doing something like raising chickens! 🤦‍♀️
