In 1984 while filming a Pepsi commercial his hair caught fire when the pyrotechnics went off too early. His scalp was badly burned, it was after that he had to wear wigs or hairpieces over the burned scalp, that is what I saw once when his hair stylist spoke about him in an interview after his passing.
