Former Goanimate watcher here. (I stopped watching around 2017) You’re probably one of the most sane person who’s still in the goanimate community, colored me surprised. These GA commentaries and approvals styled videos does more harm than good, and it’s (one of) the exact reason why I have a ten foot pole distance from the community. I can see the potential GA as an actual animation software, and I want to try it out but I’m afraid of going into the community to tell stories and innovate my skillset.

Hey, I’m going to be honest. This video is actually really good, one of the best grounded videos I’ve ever seen and I rarely watch Go!Animate. The writing in this feels more realistic and makes the video tolerable. No extreme reactions, no unreasonable groundings, and Brian actually redeems himself at the end, that’s something I see almost no Go!Animate character do. And even the parents reduce his groundings and accepted his apology for admitting what he did was wrong. Thus, ending the video on a better note. I actually wish to see more of these, Go!Animate videos with more realistic writing is what this community needs.

Here's some trivia: The original version of this was one of the very first GoAnimate videos I've ever watched. I originally watched videos where some GCU characters got held back, such as Erika, Eric and many more. However, even if the video was lost to time, this ReAnimated version (or remaster, as some people may call it), would still exist. By the way, you may notice that there are no footstep sounds in the video and the GoAnimate sound effects are mostly retro. This is because the video is supposed to take place in 2013, but in a strange, altered dimension of such where there is less mean-spirited behaviour, and more common sense. However, it can be very glitchy and unstable. Maybe I borrowed Homer's time travel toaster and killed around 12 mosquitos... but who really knows? List of changes made over the original: • Improved the dialogue and reactions to make them more realistic • Added new scenes and backdrops • Added attention to detail with the car (you can see the characters inside) and the remnants of Brian's hair • Removed some background characters • Removed the unnecessary volume abuse right at the start (voice clips may be slightly louder at certain points but not too loud to make you have to turn down your volume with some annoying text) • Brian no longer cries throughout the entire video • Brian's parents no longer laugh at Brian's disgraceful haircut, but something else happens instead • Brian's dad now pays the hairdresser money • The hairdresser is somehow brattier than that strange Tetris girl from another dimension with an evil personality, but she has better dialogue to make up for it • Fixed the bug where Brian's bald spot would be floating in mid-air until he moves to where his action would stop while being in motion • Removed the grounding that appears to be slapped in at the last minute and replaced it with one that occurs after the haircut • Added an epilogue that occurs after the main part of the video ends

After watching this video, I absolutely agree with everything you said in this video, especially when using others videos without permission for commentary and when not letting one of them go of their past, despite being several years old. Other than that, I still believe that these commentaries are additional disguised reuploads made to escalate drama further. If they definitely wanted to create a commentary without further controversaries, they at least should a bit research and request permission from others before using these videos, in order for a fair and ethical timing.

coming back to this rq it’s funny how they say “fictional characters don’t have opinions” when some of the episodes of the shows they like are literally built off opinions for example there’s a frasier episode called “the focus group” where the titular group is discussing frasier’s show and they all like it except for one particular person and frasier becomes obsessed with trying to find out why the guy doesn’t like his show the whole plot of that episode was based around his opinion on frasier’s show (and frasier as a person) if fictional characters really didn’t have opinions that episode would literally be 1 minute

As a person who used to make these horrible "commentaries", I nowadays agree. They are just boring videos. Also, (though it's unrelated to the video), I saw you reuploaded my videos on the Internet Archive. If you still hate me, that's fine. I already stopped with the rants and commentaries as they are nowadays extremely boring and just cause a lot of arguments. You have given me valid criticism. Despite that, I would rather have them deleted forever. I find the videos from my old channel to be very cringe.
