I can definitely hear a 700-1000hz bump in the Marshall, and a 1400-1600 bump in the joyo through car speakers, without a doubt tho, the joyo bantamp line is impressive AF.

I have the JOYO JaCMan II mounted right on a pedal board. It was $189! These things sound so good I can't believe they haven't put Marshall out of business yet. $3500 for a Marshall amplifier is INSANE!

Thow an EQ in the loop and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Until you crank it, that is. These things have no headroom and over about half volume they flatten out and lose all the dynamics and sound like a common solid state practice amp.

so, preamp is better in the joyo than in the marshall?

The joyo is a tube pre vs solid state in the Marshall. You get the best of both worlds. The joyo gives you the awesome preamp and the Marshall gives you 100 watts so you can play it louder. I have the joyo zombie and unless the cab is mic’d up, it’s not gonna cut it live. This is probably what imma end up doing for shows cause I loooove the Joyo Zombie, but I don’t love how low output it is

Do you have to use that attenuator type thing that you have? I want to try it with my zombie into a Randall RG 50 tube anp. I do not have one of those attenuator type thing though. Also if I want to use some of my pedals would i just put my modulations and delays after the zombie then into effects loop and use my boost pedals before the zombie? I love my Randall's tones but I also love the zombies tone... And wonder what it would sound like with a tube poweramp

They are pretty dam close to each other ....The Joyo in some instances sounds a touch brighter than the JCM ....Overall for the price how can you beat it >> So much so I bought one ! and I love it .....The little thing is quite impressive. My Joyo with my $49 .. Klon pedal in front is simply remarkable sound wise.

The Joyo doesn't have the same amount of high end, but in a mix, that would probably get lost anyway. The Joyo also doesn't have a boost to help it. Is there a tone control on that boost, and is it set to be flat, or does it lean a bit to treble?

To my ears, the JCM has about 20%+/- more body than the Joyo, which is kind of amazing.

I know what guitar sounds I like when I hear it. Some guys can make a 10,000 dollar rig sound like crap and some can make a 500 dollar setup sound great. All I care about is nice creamy dirt tone like a mix of SRV and Carlos Santana. I could not care less who made it and getting a big rounded guitar sound with nice tone for cheap has been my motto for about 50 years now. Older doesn't mean better and new cheap gear does not mean it's garbage.

Not sure how good your hearing is, but if you listen closely @3:42 , you'll hear a really nasty bell-like spike at around 800hz to 1k, which would probably destroy the overall tone if you tried using an EQ to take it out. As a matter of fact, even when you hook up the EQ pedal and listen again @6:58 , you can still hear the bell tone, but then it sounds more like a nasty jingle bells. Listen a bit closer..

Yes indeed, problem being it's not mic'd up in this video. Just a video camera with good clipping/comp onboard, so it's capturing all the ugly right angles of the room. I started micing up the amps, hopefully I can get to the tone "nitty gritty" now without the "cave" tones lol

@@fritzonabudget3847 - Well, it's definitely an interesting sound that you've discovered here.. and actually, I even tried it myself. lol Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to sound anywhere near as hot as your signal sounds, which I attribute to your guitar pickups. I think you said Dimarzio PAF. I can see that it's in the bridge position, but I have no idea what model it is. I'm assuming the one in the neck position is just a stock burstbucker. Honestly, I have no clue of either models you have in there. I'm pretty sure that's what gives you the sound though. I tried cranking both the gain/volume on the Purple Wind to no success. It just sounded dull and dry. However, a simple overdrive was a different story. Much better. Still not as hot as the sound you're getting though. Maybe it's the guitar cab ? No clue..

Isn't the Joyo FIREBrand suppose to be an ENGL Fireball...? To my knowledge the Joyo JaCkMan is the JCM clone. So this comparison doesn't really make sense to me...

From what I've heard, fireballs are supposed to be based on a "hot rod plexi" sound, JOYO actually nail it closer than the ENGL in the raw plexi department, but the ENGL has SO much more meat on the tone, if you have a good eq, a great power amp and a 4x12 of choice, this, used as a preamp, will mock a Fireball with the right settings.

It's crazy how well these small amps sound these days!! The mini soldano is absolutely amazing sounding for $250!! This little joyo sounds amazing as well!! For studio purposes, you can basically get all the sounds you would want with three or four of these different things, for less than the price of one boutique amp. What a time to be alive!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻

They're so similar without a full mix, I'm sure they sound identical in a full mix. The difference is so miniscule, I'd be happy with either one, and since the gear is just a tool for making music, I wouldn't hate a song based on what gear they used to record or perform it.

Why are you sending the Marshall effects loop send back to the Joyo effects loop return? From what I understand about slaving amps (really not much at all), that connection is not necessary.

I found out you have to loop it send and return. Didn't work for me when I just slaved. Using an eq, damn!! Plexi type sound.
