Second interview I’ve seen with ETC and again the interviewer talks more than Earl.

Terrible interviewer, Merle was gracious in attempting to answer and being cut off half the time. One could see he was thinking this man is a fool.

After hearing Ricky saying how Nashville controls the singers I need to say NASHVILLE SUCKS!!. Ricky needs to go out and sing again because since he stopped singing country in the 90's Nashville completely destroyed country.

Fascinating just watching this in August 2024. Megan may be the quieter one, but those glances and expressions are still recognisable today.

Wow, never saw this video before. Sure wish that Holly hadn't already basically been Blacklisted by Country Radio by the time this interview took place. The aforementioned "Getting It Dunn" CD should have been put her near the very top of the industry. It was loaded with potentially Huge hit songs. Alas, it was very poorly marketed and there was only 1 Music video. Still makes me bitterly angry how they let that brilliant album go to waste. It could have been huge, and then Holly unexpectedly got the boot by Warner Brothers Records. That should never have happened. So totally unfair.

Like Marty Stuart jokingly said to Earl on a show after listing all of Earl's awards, "The only award Earl has not won is Female Vocalist of the Year." Earl got a kick out of that.

He left this world very fast ; here is the prayer for his soul : “…O my God, Thy Trust hath been returned unto Thee. It behooveth Thy grace and Thy bounty that have compassed Thy dominions on earth and in heaven, to vouchsafe unto Thy newly welcomed one Thy gifts and Thy bestowals, and the fruits of the tree of Thy grace! Powerful art Thou to do as Thou willest, there is none other God but Thee, the Gracious, the Most Bountiful, the Compassionate, the Bestower, the Pardoner, the Precious, the All-Knowing. I testify, O my Lord, that Thou hast enjoined upon men to honor their guest, and he that hath ascended unto Thee hath verily reached Thee and attained Thy Presence. Deal with him then according to Thy grace and bounty! By Thy glory, I know of a certainty that Thou wilt not withhold Thyself from that which Thou hast commanded Thy servants, nor wilt Thou deprive him that hath clung to the cord of Thy bounty and hath ascended to the Dayspring of Thy wealth…”

I loved Holly Dunn's songs and work. (Except for one song: Maybe I Mean Yes) I for one, am glad they replaced that with the Train song. I'm a big fan of the older trains, growing up here in the central valley of California, around the SP and Santa Fe, like Holly herself, are sadly long gone.
