Im putting the Frima 160a ESC in my infraction tommorrow and going to run the stock motor on 8s. How did yours do? I see you posted this 4 years ago so I'm sure you have some good pointers.

The only issue I had with running the stock motor on 8s is it overheated fast in hard bashing. Even with good fans. But otherwise the motor held strong for like a year until I upgraded.

Yup stock 18/46. Gave me 78mph. Running the 27t speed pinion gave me 98mph.

Brian Votke yeah the motor hasn’t skipped a beat. I’m running the same esc the Kraton runs. It’s a Hobbywing Max 6 with a different cover. Did 78mph on bashing gearing and 98mph on the high speed pinion it came with.

Couple of Screws loose yeah let me know how the Kraton motor works! I don’t know if I would want to run such a low kv motor is the only thing. Gobs of torque but you would lose a lot of speed.

Couple of Screws loose well the stock motor is 2050kv and I’m getting 78mph out of it on the stock bashing gearing on 8s. 98mph with the speed pinion it comes with. I’m not sure of the longevity of the stock 2050kv motor but it hasn’t died on me yet lol. But personally I’d run in the 1800-2200kv range.

Couple of Screws loose my temps have been in the 130 degree range. But I’m also running a heat sink and dual fan set up. The stock 2050kv motor isn’t really designed for 8s but it’s been serving me well so far lol.

Jose Hernandez they hang around 120-130. But that’s with a yeah racing heat sink and dual fans.

Justin Solis I was running a TVS set up with meth injection at the time. But any time you add flow you’re going to pick up power.

Tony Meinders haha thanks man! They are just the Traxxas paddles. The Max 6 esc and SMC 9200 batteries made a big difference in power. I’m on 20/46 gearing. The truck loves taller gearing and makes wheelies endless haha.

+Slobalt then you haven't raced a properly set up M62 balt. The R is in the 300whp range. The Balt is in the 270whp range

+bluelightning426 I've ran plently, a 270whp m62 would be lucky to make 250wtq. I used to own one. My turbo balt makes 350whp/377wtq with just boltons and would rape my old car lol

+Slobalt Torque doesnt mean much when it spikes then falls off like a k04 turbo does in the TC and Golf R. It's the liner powerband of the supercharger that helps it keep up with less hp and tq. Numbers aren't everything. I've maxed out my M62, maxed out a TVS and now roll a 453whp/409wtq LSJ-T set up. With lots of races over the years. This is a pretty standard race.

+bluelightning426 my torque isn't spiked, it holds strong across my power band. if you want a torque spike for just dyno #'s you can easily have over 400wtq on the k04

+Slobalt Have a link to your graph anywhere? I've never ever seen a k04 Balt hold torque to redline. Nowhere even close to redline. It's way too small of a turbo to do that.

The only way i'm trapping higher than 112 mph is if I was on E85. I was on 91 pump gas and meth injection there. Motor was not hurt. Pretty aggressive tune. 22.5* on top. 2.7" pulley.

If I can snag another one I will. I already know I won't be happy with the M62 setup. You should also be trapping higher than that. Your engine must not of been healthy in this race, was it? Or did you not add a lot of timing? Which pulley did it have on it?

For the conversion with the twin ZR's it was just a bolt 900 cylinders, head and pistons on and go. Not sure how it works with the triples. I still managed to cut some time off since this vid. I was still dialing in 192 picks at this time. But thanks!

How difficult of a conversion is that? I have a zrt 800 and was thinking of doing the same. Your machine really moves, congrats. Just by goin on the timer at the bottom of your video, you hit 40 in 2 seconds, 60 in 4 seconds and 100 in 9 seconds

The tune was way too aggressive. Motor took it for a few months.

No no this is the stock original motor that I blew last year. I didn't tune it. I won't name who did but if you dig on CSS you can find out haha. Taylor the one with the Redline tuned my car on the new motor and mods. Then you saw the race between us which I will have on here soon. I just stumbled upon this vid and posted it.

Yes this was on the original stock motor. Oh hey! Absolutely I know who you are. Ya get that thing back! Haha I was on a drag radial tire. But my ebrake was causing me issues that day and I couldn't do a very good burnout. My best 60ft was a 2.0.

I thought I saw time slips of you going 12.8 on CSS.net. This was obviously before your rebuild, right? Not that it really matters or that you would know who I am but I am DarkChild off of CobaltSS.net I'm looking at buying my old TVS back. Were you on a sticky tire? What was your 60'?
