+Tim Scott Yes I posted it and got alot of views. I posted it before the newer Winterland version was released. I posted the 1992 version that had a bonus disc and t-shirt. Wish they didn't take it down. Definetely the best version I heard.

I can't believe anyone would like this. Give a 5 years old kid, a stack of Marshall's, and a Stratocaster, they would probably sound better. In these times, this is just not good.

+George Skarzynski you cant believe it because you lack the proper understanding/ appreciation for the art. the technical part of his playing was not out of this world. It was his blues infused phrasing and sonic command for his guitar, amp, and feedback that made him out of this world. rather anybody can get the licks down, with the tab, and make distorted noise. but you cant play like him. the problem with the yngvie style players is that its not art, because its all technique mastery. zipping up and down scales and repeating patterns without any true substance.

Blackdude57 is right he was murdered. And if you don' t like people elevating, it's because nobody listens anymore, they just keep running their mouths on their cellphones.Another reason I agree with BLACKDUDE57 is because that chick that fed him those pills mysteriously died. Look, back in that era a lot of people were being offed, and it was because of a u.s. government that was doing whatever the hell it wanted. My personal take on it was that when Jimi played the national anthem at woodstock he got on the cia's radar.Dispute it all you want, if you didn't come from those times or you lived in a sheltered life ,you wouldn't have a clue.Deniers beware, sometimes the truth will kill you.

Q. Why is it so hard to play like Jimi? A. You have to play the guitar AND the Marshall amps.... like you were sent down to earth from Olympus.

This sounds like shit! Hard to play Hendrix? You need to get your head out of you ass. Go watch Eric Johnson play this at 'Austin City'. The studio versions is full of back tracking and tricks to get that great sound...that Hendrix cant duplicate live...but Johnson does!11

I never understood this song until I was stoned and listening to it through headphones..then it all made sense and was trippy as hell. You don't need hard drugs for this song to blow your mind, but to each his own I guess. Either way Jimi was the best and I don't think we will see anything like him in our lifetime. The glory days of music are long gone and I will have to hang my head when I tell my kids what type of music was popular when I was younger.

Technically it's the mixolydian mode. It's very simple: the song is in A and he's using the ordinary notes of the key of A except for the G sharp which becomes a G natural. But I prefer 'seems like he is shining light on the world' - that seems to get more to the core of the matter :-))
