This was sucha great video, very glad Mr. Nerburn read from the books and gave overviews of them. I really wish "To Walk the Red Road" and "We choose to Remember" were available. I guess Red Road was available in reprint on Kent's website but it seems to be impossible to find a copy and if you do find one it is insanely overpriced. Since I was a kid I've read countless Native American histories, was friends with a few Seneca locals, took some classes at University conducted by Native professors but Ken's books gave me more insight into what it must be to see America from a Native perspective than anything I experienced so far. Neither Wolf Nor Dog was an eye-opener on so many levels, just finished reading Wolf at Twilight and over 1/2 finished with Girl who sang to the Buffalo; also read Voices in Stone. I find it intesting that Kent started as a sculptor because when you read about Catlin, Bodmer, and Edward Curtis it seems that Native peoples were a bit more accepting and trusting of White people who were artists than others, maybe I'm wrong. I'm very glad to have found these books - I did not know about them until recently - because they explained a lot I either did not know, or suspected but had no way to really confirm my thoguhts. I was always interested in knowing about Native Americans and truly wish I spent more of my time here getting to really know them personally. When I was a little kid and we played Cowboys and Indians I actually wanted to be an Indian!, I never saw our movement to conquer the West as anything but a huge mistake, I guess it was inevitable, but I only wish it unfolded in a very different way. Knowing what I knew when I was young kept me from trying to get to know more local Native people because I felt they would not want to accept me - we have several reservations in the area - Allegheny, Cattaraugus, Oil Springs, Tonawanda, Tuscarora.

Neither Wolf Nor Dog is the best book, Let me tell you! I am a Intro to Native Studies instructor and I have all my students start with this common read. I believe it touches each and everyone of us differently and each and every time it is read or listen to. Tim Conner really does a great job narrating the book on audio also. Thank you for such a great series. All three books touch us in a different way.

That man is a dear soul. He was born into a messy family. His father was gay. He had a male lover. Candi knew it but liked living as Mrs Spelling so she overlooked his second life. He gave her an open checkbook and that was supposed to make up for what she didn’t get. He was born into this mess. He didn’t mention it but it definitely played a part in his life. The family was dysfunctional on a high level. His father had the two kids to keep Candi busy. He lived his life. She lived hers. The children didn’t rate highly in her world. Money did. The were left little when Aaron died. Candi got most everything. She lives in a condo on the Wilshire corridor that is at least a $35,000,000 home. It is huge. She supposedly lives alone plus several servants. She doesn’t particularly care about the two kids and they don’t particularly care about her. Too bad. This man is a dear sweet person. He was put into the wrong family.

People look up with much respect to those who have money. I saw that with Paris Hilton now that she built a fortune with her businesses. Before she succeeded financially on her own, everybody was mocking and ridiculing her. It was so cruel. Now they almost bow to Paris. Candy gets that same reverence. They really want to do business with these rich girls.

The sun rises, the time goes by, now just relax and close your eye. Look at the wonderful great blue heaven count the time until eleven. Then you´ll feel your tiredness and forget every kind of stress. And all your fears now go away, do you see the nice bright ray? Hope and peace it sends to you, the sky aren´t grey, they turn to blue. And when you wake up, the world has changed and all your pains are rearranged. So live your life, enjoy it well don´t think about going to hell. Relish every moment and every hour, and it will grow and stay like a flower. We just live it one time and never twice, listen to yourself and look at the sunrise. Hatuk Hill - Indianer

Growing up rich can be a costly experience, best wishes to him ,we all go through the worst of life at some stage in our lives through loss of loved ones ,jobs ,marriage but the best this life has to offer is coming home to your family and just appreciate the little thing as for the rest it's a short lived delusion...peace all and be happy this life is a short ride
