What happens if you choose the slowest speed for a CD-R?
@happydiytime
@happydiytime 5 ай бұрын
In general, if the CD burns and plays successfully, but sounds scratchy or distorted, especially on the high number tracks, then a slower burn speed might be needed. I did not try the slowest speed. I think, generally, with a slower speed, the quality of burning is higher, the burning time is longer, and the burned CD is compatible with a wider range of CD players.

I recently used the rebuilt kit offered for my Wilkins 1-1/4" 600, and read up a lot before attempting from all the advice in the commit section on Amazon & YT videos. Prepping by boring smooth the open shaft where the stem & o-ring glides is the key, and it worked out fine for me. An original rebuilt kit cost $83 w/tax from Amazon, and a new PRV would have been $572 w/tax, at 1/7th the cost, it was worth the gamble.

Thanks for sharing your experience! You did a great job! I agree that it is worth trying the rebuilt kit first. I considered the rebuilt kit for my PRV and found that the price difference was ~$20. The new PRV (1 in. NR3XL) was ~$85 from Home Depot and the rebuilt kit was ~$65 from Amazon. I appreciate that you have shared some key technical details for using the rebuilt kit. Next time, I will try the rebuilt kit. It will be a lot of fun and decrease the cost.

Thanks for the well-marked "what is what" at 1:06. Does the "sprinklers" refer to lawn water sprinklers? In my townhouse, I have a fire suppression water sprinkler system, and it branches out just downstream of the main shutoff ball valve, but upstream of the Pressure Reducing Valve. So, while my PRV location would protect the plumbing in the house, I worry about the high municipal water pressure "overpressurizing" the fire suppression water sprinkler system.
@happydiytime
@happydiytime 6 ай бұрын
Yes, the "sprinklers" in the video refer to lawn water sprinklers. For the fire suppression water sprinkler system, as far as I know, the maximum pressure is 175 psi. As long as the municipal water pressure is below 175 psi, you do not need to worry about it, I think.

Taking a bath or a very long shower could increase that peak pressure, unless you have a small leak or use some water shortly after using the shower. Also, people on a well do not need an expansion tank, as the tank acts as one.

Good video. However, two improvements: 1. Replace the rotary cold water shutoff valve with another ball valve. 2. Invert the expansion tank so that the water intake is located at the bottom. Which, in theory, would tend to maximize the durability of the rubber gasket inside the expansion tank.

Question, do i need to replace the rotary valve with a ball valve to pass inspection? does expansion tank needs to be secure to wall or can it be without it as long as is connected directly to the pipe, thank you
@RVail623
@RVail623 7 ай бұрын
@@pilot0208 Not required to replace the rotary valve, but a simply good idea to, since they often get gummed up & fail to work properly. The tank will likely need some kind of added support, in case it gets water-logged and the extra weight could make the pipes fail.

@@RVail623 thanks for the info. I am trying to do this on my own. I understand that you are supposed to match the water pressure your water valve regulator outside the house is set to , to the expansion tank, I replaced mine but did not really tested it before I replaced it so I don’t really know what was the pressure it was set to before, so the question is what is it supposed to be set to? Does it goes based on how big the house is? How the city says is supposed to be set to? Reason I ask is because I have seen some videos and their houses were set differently, some were 80psi and some 50. Any help on this is greatly appreciated

Hi, will channel locks work instead of pipe wrenches?
@happydiytime
@happydiytime Жыл бұрын
The channel locks should also work very well for this purpose as long as it has sufficient jaw capacity. The jaw capacity of my channel locks is not large enough to clamp the union connectors and the body of pressure reducing valve. So I used pipe wrenches in this work.
@larryleal3830
@larryleal3830 Жыл бұрын
You can save a lot of money by just removing the black plastic bonnet on the regulator then grabbing the cartridge bolt with vice grips and pulling out diaphragm assembly no need to use pipe wrenches to remove entire regulator. cleaning the frozen cartridge assembly that is stuck from calcium buildup, the retaining bolt that bolts to the seal ring on the bottom and the diaphragm on the top needs needs to slide both ways about 1/4 inch so unscrew the assembly and clean use o-ring lube or plumbers lube on bolt stem and all rubber for reassembly, best to take pictures during disassembly. No worries if you brake it--- you buy a repair kit for 1/3 the price of the complete regulator on line-- so its work the time.

i have put 55 songs on a cd r mp3 not working on car taking too long loading its because their name is too long 30 characters ?

@happydiytime Жыл бұрын
I guess the main reason is the disc format. For the disc format, choose "Audio CD" (as shown in the video) instead of "MP3 CD". Audio CDs are stored in the media in its original uncompressed form; however, MP3 CDs are stored compressed. As far as I know, most CD players in the car can play audio CDs but not MP3 CDs. Hope this information helps. Good luck!
@happydiytime
@happydiytime Жыл бұрын
In my reply just now, I forgot to mention that I had the same problem as you described (always loading) when I first made a CD using the "MP3 CD" disc format. I made another CD using the "Audio CD" disc format, then it can be played using the CD player in my car. After inserting the blank CD disk drive, in the pop up window, choose "Audio CD", that should solve the problem. As the files in audio CDs are stored in its original uncompressed form, the maximum number of songs in one disk is somewhere between 20 and 30 in general. You might need to burn at least two CDs for 55 songs.

After the audio files for the songs are copied into the playlist, the total time will be shown on the computer screen. In this video, there are 16 songs and the total time is 40 minutes, as shown on the screen (see the video 0:09-06:12, ). The maximum time for the CD I used in this video is 80 minutes (written on one side of the CD disk). So for this CD, I can burn songs with a total time up to 80 minutes. If more songs need to be burned, I will have to burn a second CD.

Hi Cristhian, it is an excellent question. Here is the information from the installation instruction for this flooring: "When installing over a crawl space or concrete slab, it may be necessary to use a moisture barrier to prevent moisture migration. A plastic film with a minimum thickness of 6 mil should be placed with a 4 - 6 in. (101.6 - 152 mm) overlapped seam, and taped with a suitable tape." I did not use the moisture barrier as I feel that the moisture is not a problem for my location. But in general, it is a good idea to add a moisture barrier. Thanks for your question.

Hi John: Yes, it is floating. In terms of installation method, there are at least two different designs for the floating engineered hardwood floor: "click lock" and "tongue and groove". The following two links have some relevant information about these two designs. www.uniquewoodfloor.com/blog/click-lock-floating-wood-floors-vs-tongue-and-groove-style-part-1/ www.uniquewoodfloor.com/blog/click-lock-floating-wood-floors-vs-tongue-and-groove-style-part-2/ The glue is not needed for the click lock design but is needed for the tongue and groove design. The floor in this video is the click lock style and no glue is needed between the board edges. The boards stay together very well so far by the click-lock mechanism. Good luck with your installation project!

Hi Alli: That is a very good observation. There was no leak or poor water drainage since I moved into this house over one year ago. It may have been induced by some water issue several years ago.
