It’s probably got sports brake pads which resist heat better. But yes they were irritating, I just wished it wasn’t as busy so we could have really given it some extra boost. If I ever manage to get one I’ll be happy to retake the video without that brake noise. Maybe Silverstone F1 circuit as it’s only 20 minutes away for me.

I spoke to an Opel Expert, he told me Regular oil & Filters (Fuel & Oil) changes on these are ESSENTIAL to keep turbo and DPF in good condition. (I do service every year or 10k klms). I also take off EGR vslve and clean every 6 months(they get blocked easy and cause poor fuel economy with No check engine light!!!). Also important to keep diesel lvl at 50% because some cars will not do Regens otherwise. (This car needs a monthly 45min run at 3000 Revs 4th gear on the motorway). I have 130klms on my 2014 and have had no issues, touch wood!!!!

Great video..My zafira 1.7cdti regens for about 10-15 mins (Runs of above 20 mins and 3000 Revs and my scan tool tells me the minimum is 30% and Regens at 80% pressure..

Ive stumbled across this video and think you may be able to help me mate haha. If a dpf has been removed and mapped out, what would be the cause of the van (mk 7 transit euro 5) still smoking? Especially when going up hills or coming to a stop. Do you think it would be the 5th injector in exhaust needs removing? Cheers 🔧
@domenicoforte17998 ай бұрын
Without an inspection it’s almost impossible to say all I can say is check the turbo for a worn turbine and the injector in the down pipe normally fails and this is the biggest cause of DPF issues on these systems.

My car went into limp mode after advising DPF was filling up. Threw up all sorts of EML codes. I had a carbon clean and then a forced regen and the smoke that came out was unbelievable. Really thick stuff too. Must have only took 10 minutes or so. Only had it done today and it’s been running like a dream all day, wonder if it’ll last 👀

How is this environmentally friendly? You burn off what it captured?
@domenicoforte1799 Жыл бұрын
This particular vehicle had an engine failure and was repaired. They would normally burn it off whilst on the road and you shouldn’t see anything like this. It’s purely because the exhaust was contaminated with oil and cleaning chemicals

Ok I’m doing this from memory so here goes! You’ll need to get the vehicle ready before starting a regeneration all faults must be repaired or cleared except for the DPF fault itself If the DPF is blocked or has too much carbon deposits it will have to be removed and cleaned Cut the DPF to create access then leave it in cleaning solution overnight then we high pressure wash them and dry them out with compressed air, weld back up and refit the unit then commence the pre conditioning of the system New oil and filter Reset the DPF Fully warming the engine Over 1/4 of a tank of fuel Outside in an open space not too close to other vehicles It’s basically following the instructions on the machine of your choice. We use a Span On machine But there is a manual option of driving the vehicle in a forced regeneration drive Full temperature again 3rd or 4th gear Over 2500 rpm constantly for 20 minutes without dropping below that 2500 rpm not too much higher You can damage the engine if you’re too rough
@andrewsmall65683 жыл бұрын
If you cut the DFP does this not mean an MOT fail based on the new rules? (DPF visibly tampered with)

what is a DPF, and any description would be helpful to me
@nathanreid29743 жыл бұрын
A DPF is a diesel particulate Filter. It Captures exaust soot as carbon which is released by the combustion chamber comma due to unburnt fuel on cold starts or buy natural usage. when the filter gets full it needs a recanalisation, but if it gets too full mechanics like him on the video can initiate a forced regeneration.
