Sounds like a Punch Brothers B-Side. Well played, surely, but definitely out of their normal ballpark.

So wonderful three part harmony weaving through the fast paced and strident tune .... takes us with them on the journey. Kudos !!!

I remember in the early 2000s I was hangin with Tdawg right after they had done that song for one of the first times and I said, "Dude I Loved the hip thrusts!" And he responded, "Aye yes yes The (*Pelvic Thrusts) were spot on tonight!"🤣

This song is so awesome, it makes me think of not just actors/musicians going to LA hoping to make it big, but also influencers. It's a little campy and a little snide, love it lol

This is the first Nickel Creek song I ever heard. I had to pull off the road to listen to it.

I enjoy Nickel Creek, but maybe a bit less after this clip. I feel like the song deserves more than their ironic take.

I don't think this is an ironic take at all..

I saw them do this song circa 2005 when they were touring for Why Should the Fire Die. It still sounds good.

Best version of Toxic ever, played as it meant to be played, on real instruments.

Sara easily has the best voice of a female musician in the Bluegrass/Country genre of the last several decades, she deserves way more recognition than she gets. And sure, her supporting cast is pretty solid too, but she steals the show when she takes lead on a tune. Love this band, always have, always will.

Glad to see a new generation lovin the Creek. Still the best show they played, for me was 2003 Bonnaroo fest. It was magical.

My favorite Nickel Creek concert was 2003 in Keystone, CO. Small intimate venue, I think "This Side" had just gone Gold. They wrote a song in one of the coffee shops in Keystone that would end up on "Why Should The Fire Die?". Every time has been amazing, but that one was something special.

This is one of the many things wrong with American culture - we shouldn't embrace the poison... but we do. We need to promote self control, sobriety and health. Instead we pursue the prurient and the toxic. Depressing. The long term impact of this is suicide, depression, early deaths, there is literally no upside.
