Gosh imagine that, taking your foot off the accelerator slows you down, like taking your foot off the of the accelerator in an ICE automobile does. Who would have thought that removing the fuel source would slow you down?

Well, ICE cars run on much more readily than an EV with regenerative braking set high. That’s my observation after 50 years of ICE driving and 3 years of EV driving.

Fast chargers reduce battery life. Use a moderate speed charger at home and your battery will last much longer.
@GreenGene8 ай бұрын
Not true for the most of the EVs in production rn. Usually the rule of a thumb is - not to charge EV to 100% SoC. BUT, if you bought a Tesla with a locked battery that you can upgrade to more miles just by paying extra - it means that you have a bigger battery, and your 100% SoC means battery is only charged to 80% or so, so you can with those Model Y’s that are upgradable with no fear of loosing a mileage. But sure thing that the home charger and charging to 80% CAN possibly extend your EV battery life time, not true for over 50% of EVs made NOW. More for older vehicles

Switch to filthy electric vehicles waisting more resources? Not going to happen. No resources available.
@GreenGene8 ай бұрын
Sticking with ICE cars does waste non-renewable resources like oil and gas. These resources are finite and contribute to environmental pollution. Transitioning to electric vehicles (EVs) can reduce reliance on these resources, lower emissions, and promote sustainability. Adopting renewable energy sources for EVs further enhances this benefit
@francisphillipeck42728 ай бұрын
Its also powered by coal so you might as well just have an ICE car and save the headache you arent saving anything, just shifting the profit from the oil company to the power company.

with more Fast charging and route planning it is VERY realistic to the MOST (while I am agreeing that in some cases it would not work for everyone)

@@GreenGene the infrastructure is lacking i would agree. I guess i was more-so saying that a transition to electric cars is a pipe dream. When we went from horses to cars(one example of many) it happened by choice, not by force. If it is really as good as people say people will volunteer to participate. I dont think many people would participate without the goverment compelling them to.
