I'm definitely ready for cooler weather...I've battled humidity, ticks, mosquitoes, and poison oak all summer for a handful of 3-ringers lol.

Wormed = hollow?
@theshankisintact5 ай бұрын
Wormed is the term used for a pulled bullet. Soldiers would do this when coming into camp. Or if they had an issue with the gun. They could pull the bullet out manually so that it would not discharge. The ramrod of the rifle would have an attachment that could screw on. That would almost look like a corkscrew to go into the bullet. And then pull it out. It worked well since the lead was so soft

Wash it with water, don’t rub it clean with your fingers
@theshankisintact6 ай бұрын
Water is the worst thing to put on an old copper coin that has just been dug. It will turn the coin red ruining the patina and also will easily wipe away details like the date. I only rub enough in the field to get an ID, then I let it dry out and use a tooth pick and dry toothbrush to clean it up some.
