I think this playthrough was set to the extended mode with aliens and apparently they enhanced Elliott's stupidity as well. He can't even die correctly.

It's a little Bluetooth receiver from Amazon connected to a cassette adapter on the side of the radio. I would be interested in remaking it again with a Raspberry pi and a little LCD screen.

This thing went through several stages. I know at one point it was on an Xbox. But the raspberry pi was the best. You can load it into the battery bay.

There is a JA1.13 mod called "Deidranna Side Mod" where this not-so-stupid idea is realized: Elliot contacts AIM to "liberate" Arulco from rebels (and from a bunch of other AIM mercs), kill Miguel and force Enrico to surrender. Pretty funny and worth to give it a look.

Thanks to the 1.13 fan patch you don't have to wonder any more! Tanks (and a lighter version of the tank, an armored humvee with only a machine gun which is still very dangerous) can show up in patrols and counterattacks, and they can even drive around in tactical, running over and crushing most obstacles. This makes giving every squad a LAW or two more useful, as there's potential for vehicle combat outside of Meduna.

What we're seeing here is a speedrun, which is when someone discovers a loophole in the game mechanics that allow you to finish the game by getting around the bulk of the content. You skip to the ending, but the ending you get is the exact same as you'd get from a regular playthrough. The way "secret ending" commonly is used in gaming is when it refers to an ending that is radically different from the normal one. In contrast to the loophole used in the speedrun, a secret ending is intentionally put there by the designers and is kept hidden from the casual gamer because it requires some unmentioned and counterintuitive actions to get to. For example, in _Shenmue_ the goal of the game is to win fights and gather clues so you can finish the game with the main character leaving his home town to pursue the man who killed his father. However, there's a secret ending which requires you to waste an excessive amount of in-game time and when you do this the villain shows up and kills the main character. That's the difference: one (speedrun) is unintentional and the ending is the same, the other (secret ending) is intentional and the ending is radically different.
