Meh, still tame. Give way to the powercreep saint, Yu-Gi-Oh.

Please tell us how do we duel Ronald when he goes to Ishihara's house? Every time I talk to him he says he's busy making another deck. Is there anyway to actually do him?

Thank you so much for the work put into making this video. It was very interesting and entertaining! Hopefully Nintendo employees in the card team see this as its a great intro on what Pokemon TCG has been through

Showing examples of Chris Rush's work and not including the Black Lotus should be a crime smh For real though, that is pretty important context as to how big a deal they were trying to make out of that alt art.

13:35 This is actually believable considering foil curving was and is a thing that happens. Its also historically more of a problem in magic than other games.

As a player that retired after Black and White I totally agree with the sentiment of fascination brought by the unique regions in the tcg The way merely looking at the cards and trying to figure what's happening in this expansion specifically since the aesthetics had a theme and how after B&W most of the charm disappeared However I am pleasantly surprised by that last XY gen plotline, objectively speaking it's exposition is way more heavy handed so I can't help but prefer good old Holon and Aquapolis but it's something

I played the TCG when I was in high school while Sun/Moon were first being released. That was what made me stop playing. I couldn't afford to keep up to my peers who had new cards.

Any word on when part 2 about the artists is coming?

It says a lot that WOTC kept innovating on the format while keeping the game balanced enough that players weren't obligated to shift to the newest release if they wanted to keep playing. That's basically what they did with MTG for years, and while there has been some mechanical creep, the game has consistently retained a core set of balanced cards for years. Comparing that to how Nintendo immediately put their TCG into power creep overdrive after one rotation and never really stopped power creeping every set with the next one. I'm not saying Wizards is a better company, but they do know how to make a solid card game.

9:10 I havent finished the video yet but i love how these unkown regions and their concepts, a town with canals inspired byVenice and a sunken civilization were explored in other Pokémon media. Whether directly or not the town of Alto Mare from the Pokémon Heros movie and the Abyssal Ruins sharing those concepts its cute to think the people working on the film or black and white 2 may thought of those regions when woking on it.

14:06 Gotta correct you here, you can't just look at current conversion rates and apply them to prices over 20 years ago, 300 yen at that time was closer to an average of $2.77, and in late 00's/early 10's 100 yen was actually stronger than 1 USD. Hell, if you made this vid in 2012 while applying "current" conversion rates you would've ended up with JP packs being around $3.75 instead.

All versions of this game are completely broken. You can go to the switch menu, and spam down + B, and it will glitch and instant win the game.

I remember being a kid in 2000 and going to a WotC store nearby to play Pokemon every Saturday. I had no idea at the time why the league stopped at the time. But now it all makes sense, wish I would have held on to my booklet and badges.

The biggest issue I've had with the game over the years is the damage ratios. Too many that attacks that can knock out Pokémon in one hit that can be pulled off too easily for too little cost

WHY??? Why is it like this? Why not "Generate a number between 1 and 1000. If it's 1 it's Mew, if it's 1000 it's Venusaur." Why are Pokemon games so... overcoded?
@Sock112215 күн бұрын
It's been almost 30 years and the HP of the top Pokemon has tripled from I think 120 with OG Charizard to 350 today. I'd say that's a massively successful staving off of powercreep that I doubt is common elsewhere (but prove me wrong. Maybe I'm just ignorant)
