The coach in this video, which is 13 years old, has very little hook on his ball. Should we be using a plastic spare ball for this method to work? My strike ball would probably hook past everything to the left, especially for the 7 and 10 pins.

Thank you so much for your tutorial, Coach Frawley! For the longest time, the biggest Achilles’ Heel with my game has been my right-side spare shooting, specifically my targeting. Now that I’ve seen your video, I now know that I need to aim between 3rd and 4th arrow (*boards 15-20) and NOT EXCLUSIVELY at the center arrow, as so many people are so wont to do. Doesn't work for me. My strike shot is to stand on 11th board and aim for the 2nd arrow (9 or 10 board-ish). So moving 9 boards to pick up the 7 pin would put me throwing over the right gutter. This spare system is obviously not a one size fits all. :(

I'm a female right handed bowler with a 5 step delivery. I throw a straight ball with a slight hook at the pocket. My question is where do I stand to hit the 1-3 pocket for a strike? On what board and is it my toe or instep of left foot? How do I hold the ball? Is it out to the side a little bit? I know I need to have my hand under the ball but which way is my thumb pointing?

On finding your srrike, how do you hold the ball? Which way is your thumb pointing?

I went bowling with my fiancee for the first time. She worked at the bowling for 7 years so I was ready lose bigtime. But I watched these vids beforehand and was amazed how well it worked. I wasn't even trying so hard after winning the first game (for I still have to take her home afterwards😉), but still won the next game too... Only when counting out for the left pins the math made my head spin and the ball didnt even reach the pins😅 I know its an old video but I had a great night, well taught. Thank you.

Great instruction, but slightly confusing. After drumming in that we should aim between the 2nd and 3rd arrows from the left, you then say (at 4m40s, 5m15s and 5m53s) to aim between the 3rd and 4th arrows! Then at 6m39s the summary says that when shooting for pins on the right you should aim between the 3rd and 4th arrows ON THE LEFT - I don't think you ever mentioned to use the arrows on the left before that?!

One time when I went bowling as a kid the ball stopped in the middle of the lane.

since I roll straight and in up the 7 board in league. I do the same thing but with the plastic ball to make the 8,4 pin or the 2 pin. but i can't go cross lane to make the 7. i throw it in the gutter half the time
