The first time I saw Ronnie Montrose, he was playing guitar for Edgar Winter in '72. I saw him again a couple years later as Montrose with Sammy Haggar singing. His guitar playing was phenomenal. I always wanted to see him again in the 80s but never got the chance...life happens I s'pose.

Sandy Gennaro is smoking them drums on this song. Nice guy I met him a few times with Pat Travers. Sandy's mother told Sandy why couldn't you of played a harmonica after driving them drums all over in her station wagon. Sandy has played for some real Pros he drums on The studio version of Into The Night by Benny Mardones. Played for Davey Jones all kinds of artists.

I didn’t know of Montrose until 5 or so years ago. Very cool band, so sad that another artist took his life. Albeit was 12 years ago, but still, people need to remember you’ve got tomorrow until you don’t, and if you make that decision for yourself you’ll never find out what life has waiting for you. It’s a great mystery, and it’s the reason to always want to see tomorrow.

Excellent. Wish I had been up front for that. Singer really pulled it off.🤘🏻 Kudos to whoever recorded it too. I don’t usually dig people constantly holding their phones up at shows but this needed to be recorded.

Caught Derek and His band way back in 1979 when he opened at Oakland Stadium. As far as I'm concerned He Was what was Great about Ted Nugents band all along. Ted was the Headlining act that day and in my opinion Derek's band was By Far the Better Act . Great to see him again , thanks for the video.🔥🎸⚡

I play Rock Guitar in local bands for over 40 years and who get's to meet Pat and Ronnie? My Wife (lol)! They were great guys and she got her picture taken with them backstage at a Biker Event she was a part of around 2010.

How great was that!?! I saw Derek in Ted Nugent's band several times in the 70s, Ted's backing band with Derek, Rob Grange on Bass and Mr Davies on Drums was excellent and wss the best band he ever had with his best songs. He was always on great double band bills, the best was when they opened for the original Black Sabbath, Rock in all its power and glory on display for both bands. Derek is in my RR HoF! 🎸🎤

When i went to see Ted Nugent in Denver 77' i was just off stage left & Derek was singing & playing in the shadows back by the stacks, out of the spotlight when he was doing 2/3 the heavy lifting. Ted was just for flash. Derek was the real show.
