I really love your small mill! Very efficient! I have dolly pot and impact crusher too, I force ore throught 100 mesh screen for many of my material, and use the batea pan to wash the crushed ore, It work extremely well but a bit more physical than your process 😁 well done! I highly recommend you to wash the tailing bath with the batea if possible before dumping, I have been in gold prospecting a good decade now but just discover last summer the batea, and I never let it go that is surprising!

Animals live in the river! I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't allow the dirt to enter the gills! If you let the dirt on the river bank, it stays there. And the water finds its way into the river.

Greetings from Germany! I am yank living here and spend my summers in Oregon prospecting. Any chance you will Trommel that gully? Maybe you have and I just haven’t watched it! I very much enjoy your channel and your tireless efforts at prospecting!
@TheGoldmansChannel2 ай бұрын
Thanks heaps mate! Unfortunately we won't be able to trommel this gully, it's just way too far to carry in any serious equipment. Maybe if I had help from a couple of mates and we had quite a few days up our sleeves, but it would be a very serious mission. Usually taking in the detector, pick, tent, food and water is tough enough 🥵

1:05:00 why is your Mercury (Hg) container labeled HF (Hydrofluoric Acid)?
@TheGoldmansChannel2 ай бұрын
Because that's usually the container we put all of our little nuggets and alluvial gold into to clean them up in the HF, but I also occasionally use them for other things, if my usual containers are full. Good spotting!

What gph Honda pump do you have on your trommel?
@TheGoldmansChannel2 ай бұрын
Depends which pump I have availible at the time, as I lend them out quite a bit. Worse case, is a 5hp Chinese 2x2" honda. Best case is the 5hp mitsubishi with an old dredge pump, but the Mitsubishi is only needed when I need to pump the water a long way above the creek, or it is too powerful to run over idle otherwise.

You've done very well with your prospecting and recovery plant but heartened to see the value you hold for the bush itself. I am hoping i get time one day to make videos myself where i combine gold prospecting and geology with ecology. If i was the king of Australia i'd open the game back up to the small scale miner but regulate them to demonstrate the highest level of preservation of natural values on the sites.
@TheGoldmansChannel2 ай бұрын
Thanks for tuning in and dropping a comment mate, much appreciated. Yes I agree, we can certainly still retain our industry without destroying the environment around us. We've got some pretty crazy ideas about environmental protection these days, well overboard in most cases! As a bloke who lives in the bush (off grid on my own land), it's certainly in my best interest to respect it, and I believe I'm also obligated to look after it wherever I can.

What is the name of that mat with the holes? I've never seen one before
@TheGoldmansChannel2 ай бұрын
It's just a piece of industrial matting that's been cut to size. The type of matting you would see in work shops or production buildings for workers to stand on, so they don't get sore feet standing on the concrete all day. Unsure of its name though sorry. But anything similar will do

If development doesn't eventuate here, and I just end up working the reef recreationally, I will have to go down a route similar to what you suggest. Cheers!

Hey, they ain't bad! Good wheels and decent clearance, I could probably get away with using one of those if I cleared a heap of logs. Wouldn't be able to load it up too much because it's quite steep in places, but it's still much better than carrying it all out mate! Cheers for that

Howdy mate, thanks for tuning in and commenting. Lease costs vary quite a bit depending on their size and location. I certainly didn't expect such generosity so quickly from all of my legend viewers. My hopes are to find somebody in this state with experience in small scale hard rock, who has been through the whole process and can assist me through all of the legal business and invest some money into getting the show happening. So I won't be taking any money off anyone any time soon, but it's great to know the offer is there. Really appreciate that guys. Ive still lots more research and ground work to be completed before I make any serious decisions about the reef, but I will certainly keep you all posted as I progress. Thanks again mate!

Thanks Andy! Lovely comment, deserves pinning. So far things are certainly looking good with this project. I actually just processed a second sample a few days ago, 76kg of material with a bit of the low grade centre rock also. Surprisingly I got a very similar result, I haven't melted it up yet, but I'd guess around 35gAu and 5gAg per tonne. Which is fantastic for a second sample with some dilution. Woohoo
