DESCRIPTION [BATTLE] Finish Gauntlet Mode with any character. Gauntlet Mode works similarly to survival, where players will pit themselves against the game's character roster in one run and under fixed regulations. This time, however, the final boss is now included and all opponents are fought in a fixed order that remains the same regardless of how many times you've played this mode. The order in which you will fight against each character in this mode can be found in the list below. Yashamaru Nakoruru Ukyo Kyoshiro Galford Tam Tam Jubei Darli Genjuro Charlotte Ruixiang Earthquake Shiki Yoshitora Hanzo Haohmaru Shizuka As the trophy description says, you will need to defeat all seventeen opponents in this mode in order to unlock it but remember that as with Story Mode, the final boss is fought in two rounds instead of one. The character I would recommend using when going for this trophy is Haohmaru due to how useful his heavy attacks are in dealing damage; you can also use the heavy version of his Crescent Moon Slash () and Renting Tremor Slash (press twice, followed by the same input as Crescent Moon Slash) attacks to potentially avoid any incoming fan attacks that Shizuka will use against you, especially with the invincibility frames on both attacks upon startup. Credit goes to Vegita_ Power on KZbin for this gauntlet mode method with Haohmaru. Be sure to block and/or dodge her attacks, and jump to avoid her command grab and sweep attacks when possible. As with story mode, save rage explosion and a weapon flipping technique for whenever her health is extremely low in the second round to deal the final blow against her. (Excludes Gear Fortress and Challenge Mode) This is much easier to do after you beat the game and have access to the Cooling System ∞ part, which can be purchased in Dr. Light’s shop for 3000 bolts. With that part, you can activate the Speed Gear 100% of the time and just leave it on for the entire stage. The Speed Gear Booster part is also a bonus, as it lets you move at full speed while the Speed Gear is active. This means you can pick a stage you’re comfortable in and just breeze through it at your leisure, giving you a lot of wiggle room for dealing with any other enemies. There is one section in particular that is especially devious because you need to slide at a specific time to avoid the lightning. However, with the Speed Gear turned on, you can wait for the opening in the electricity to appear in front of you. Begin sliding and quickly turn off the Speed Gear to remain within the opening all the way to the end. All of the others require patience as you proceed. Stand in the safe zones and study the layout to make sure you jump at the right time, leaving the Speed Gear on the entire time. You also need to avoid the electricity attacks of the mid-boss Dread Spark. Use the Speed Gear immediately, move closer and attack it with the Bounce Ball to eliminate the threat immediately. DESCRIPTION Destroy three or more enemies using a Shimobey explosion. Shimobey’s are little cretins that look like they are wearing skeleton Halloween costumes. When you shoot them they fly off and explode. There is an area in Gear Fortress 2 where a whole bunch of Lyric’s spawn, easily filling the screen, with a single Shimobey falling down from the ceiling. Just stay on the conveyor and shoot the Shimobey with regular, uncharged buster shots. If you don’t destroy three Lyrics, just keep trying. The enemies will respawn.
