The evasive maneuvers are based on thrust changes combined with looping, to increase or decrease the evasive curve angle. ECM are used for the hostile missiles. Keeping a steady speed loop gives time to NPCs AI to adapt and get you locked into their reticle.

@Konstantinos Sykas, I got the HUD etc by installing just a handful of add-ons from the built-in expansion manager, but I had to download the latest version of Oolite, not use the one in the Debian repos.

It is strongly recommended to use the latest release delivered from oolite.org. Apart from the fact that other releases cannot be supported by the Oolite community, it has been proven, during the Oolite project lifetime, that oolite.org releases are much much more stable than the distro oriented releases.

I haven't kept the settings. The purpose of this one was just a poc. However, I think that I had used from GemFX the Bloom, Lensdirt, Gaussian_Anamflare, Lenzflare, Chapman_lens, Anamflare and probably Godrays too. All these selected from the 'Pipeline' set, as this is seen in the Tutorial I made later.

+Konstantinos Sykas nvm, i figured it out myself. if anyone is curious how to install a preset using reshade 1.0 + SeetFX 2.0 WITHOUT the mediator tool: just follow the tutorial in the readme file and replace the SweetFX_settings.txt file in the sweetfx folder with your preset. make sure they have the same name and overwrite it. you'll get a greeting message and you can press scroll lock to check and see if it worked.
