I played junior footy for Springvale, we could go and watch the seniors play in the VFA for free (all kids got in free), was great fun with a group of mates.

Haha! Once a flog always a flog….. Weak as piss at the end in his interview after his players bust their ass trying to win. Instead of blaming your players, blame yourself for being assholed from the ground BT.

WOW have a look at the crowd there was nobody there that was 31 years ago. The VFA has been dead for over 3 decades. The AFL has crushed the SANFL, WAFL and VFA.

Great to see the North Hobart ground in its heyday. Can remember it being a showery and FREEZING day this game was played. Interesting to see the skeleton of the Doug Plaister Stand still being built in the background behind Terry Wheeler at half time, that replaced the old Letitia Street Stand that got burnt down the year before.

Awesome footage mate! Out of curiosity, have you ever come across footage of the 1997 reserves grand final? This remains our most recent premiership so it'd be awesome to see even some fragments of it. Cheers and great work again!

Big crowds in those days;I played in the 1970 GF and I think the crowd was about 25,000 and most spectators had to stand…the old Junction oval😂

Hey love the videos, do you have any idea of how i could watch the 1994 VFA round 9 Oakleigh vs Port Melbourne game? Just trying to find it as my Dad played that game and it would be a big help, thanks
@VFAFOOTY9 ай бұрын
Hi Willem8820 I have never seen footage of that game the VFL contract to get games filmed on a weekly basis started in season 1995 so unless a supporter filmed something it's going to be hard to locate any footage of that game

This is a much bigger crowd than the 4k that attended the SUNS VS NTH 2023 AFL Match. Tasmania want their own Team not Hawthorns and NTH'S junk matches.

I was at this game, still got the programme somewhere. Drew 10,073 people. IIRC after the Devils lost this game it caused a big stink at local level when four players in that VFL semi final team that lost to the Boroughs were allowed to play for North Hobart in the local SFL grand final a week later against Hobart and as you would expect, dominated, and the result was a 100+ point win to North Hobart. It was shortly after this that the wheels fell off for the Devils through bad administration from AFL Tas. Fans turned away in droves with the North Melbourne alignment, good local players missed out on opportunities, the North of the state was ignored and the whole thing became a circus.

WOW, people will actually watch a Tasmanian team in a Stadium without a roof. Who could have imagined? Last year the Gold Coast Suns played fellow Queensland Team the South Port Sharks in a Final there were only a few hundred there. After this amazing crowd for a reserves match Tassie had to wait until 2028 for their first season in the AFL. 25 Years of absolute madness.

WOW just have a look at the crowd for a reserves match. Why the AFL has waited another 20 years for Tasmania to get a Licensed and then another 5 years for them to play their match AFL match is a mystery. Tasmania should be playing in the AFL in 2024 not 2028. Roofed Stadium paid for by the Taxpayer or what they currently have it will be packed
