This band was wildly talented. If you get music you get fair to midland. UnUnderrated band!

Take a little dive into the shallow and spy; what do you see? You see the tortoise and the hare in a rat-race And it fits like a glove under my sleeve; just wait till then Their heads are the heaviest in operation He's still not lost imagination You can hear him mouth the whole ending; just wait till then We Marys had ourselves a ball Oh yes, we did We Marys had ourselves a ball I must admit Hang us those limbs; hold no virtue Those told to hold: project on my cue Till we fall Whether a he or a she, put your mouth where your money is And are the birds of a feather that clever? If I knew, I'd keep flocks, that's a given; just wait till then Their heads cast shadows like skyscrapers Still small enough to fit up their asses To put it all into perspective with definition We Marys had ourselves a ball Oh yes, we did We Marys had ourselves a ball I must admit Hang us those limbs; hold no virtue Those told to hold: project on my cue Oh, take a gander; the bigger they are, the harder they fall Oh, take a gander; the bigger they are, the harder they fall Not needy you'll see, not needy And I close with open arms over trees Not needy you'll see Not needy you'll see, not needy And I close with open arms over trees Not needy you'll see Not needy you'll see, not needy And I close with open arms over trees Not needy you'll see Not needy you'll see, not needy And I close with open arms over trees Listen to proven guarantees while you're rolling up the sleeves, beatin' on the chest But we can keep it in a jar when it's comin' cats and dogs for days And we Marys had ourselves a ball And I guarantee that what they've done for you they've done for me, they've done for me Hang us those limbs; hold no virtue Those told to hold: project on my cue Hang us those limbs; hold no virtue Those told to hold: project on my cue

I can't even imagine someone hearing this live, I know it would have blown me out of the water. Unfathomably good. Must have been a too good to be true type of situation. I wouldn't have been able to contain myself, I might have even cried Lol. That's also coming from a person that struggles with their emotions and has anxiety problems.

I remember going to one of their shows with periphery opening for them in Wisconsin. I was with my girlfriend at the time and we met the band. They signed her merch shirt, and we got hugs and hung out and talked to them. I remember he was sick at the time wearing a mask. Fair to midland is and will always be my favorite band since the first time I saw them open for Dir En Grey at the house of blues in Chicago when i was in highschool. I listen to them regularly and feel the raw emotion they give into each song. Subtle messages about life and its trials and the things you must overcome. It's really sad they are gone and that none of them have regular social media we could follow them on. They just kind disappeared from the world completely as if they were never here to begin with. P.s That girlfriend I mentioned, she's a cunt now.

I used to have Cliff's number in my phone. Andrew (Darroh) helped me write the lyrics for my first EP. I saw them live so may times that the whole band kept asking where the hell i lived. There will never be another FTM. And there never should be, but there shouldn't need to be any need to replace them. They were musicians for the sake of being musicians, and they changed my life for the better.

It's some sort of weird anomaly that this band didn't blow up. I know they got on the radio, but from there they should have been HUGE. I still listen to them and it really is beyond me how they didn't have a massive following. I had like 5 bands I was obsessed with from early 2000s to early 2010s, and they were one of them, and of the 5 they were all just sort of getting out there more, but not real popular yet, anyway the other 4 got huge and these guys were the only one that didn't. 2 of them were black eye peas and maroon 5. I know, they sound super mainstream and huge, but when I started listening to them it was before all that, when they were just starting out. There's a couple more that I forget atm, but yea these guys shoulda been massive, maybe not like maroon 5 massive (less pop or w/e) but yea way bigger than they got for sure
