Never hold the kicker. Period. It is a fact that in a long term you should keep the kicker when playing a game that the ratio of payout for a quad with the kicker to quad without is 4 or higher, however pay attention to the long term. In statistics long term means large sample size. If you do the calculation you will see that the average of falling into the same situation (namely three of As) is one over more than 30000. That is equivalent to about 500 hours of play. If playing about 5 hr everyday, it takes 100 days in average to hit again . Then that is worth keeping the kicker for those kind of players playing heavily. For most regular players going to casinos one a month or even a week, it is not recommended to keep the kicker. @@Manazo38 thanks for the insight. We do play about 8 hours a day while on vacation, which was 4 weeks in Vegas. We play triple double . 4Aces pay $8 , with kicker $40 so I usually hold the kicker unless I turn chicken. Now on double double where it’s $8 versus $20 I just hold the aces.

Me personally I don’t hold there. I’d rather have twice the chances of getting 4 aces without the kicker and still get the 3 of a kind regardless

@@Ballen81587 if you knew about 100 play, you would know holding the flush pays $25. Pulling for the straightflush only pays $2 and 50 cents for each you would get. And 4 would be generous. You would lose money. Don’t mind the advice but make sure you know what you are saying

Serious question if you were just going for the four aces why did you hold the three of diamonds. That would have given you an opportunity for an extra card on each one of those hands to hit the four aces?

@@shanec753 true , but 4 Aces with the 3 as the Fifth card pays $40 compared to$8 for the 4Aces , one of those will equal 5 normal 4 aces
