Setting the phone to HDR will brighten up an HDR capable display. That could be what you’re noticing.

I have three Insta360 X3 cameras used mainly on motorcycles. The image quality is....OK. In your opinion, will the X4 have a noticeable improvement on image quality?

Image will be a little better but from some reviews of some people I've seen, they prefer the QooCam 3 Ultra since it shoots in 10 bit and have better low light abilities. I have not compared it myself since I never used that camera. Its another possibility. Still, I'm not sure which would have a better stabilizer which would be important if riding on a motorcycle.
