No comments? This is a fabulous one man jam. If Johan is reading I'd love the lowdown on the gear used to create this soundscape. Siempre en Rhumba Mansa

Thank you very much for your kind words . Most of the instruments used is standard LP / Meinl / BoomWhackers material. Only a few instruments I found in shops we call: ‘Wereld Winkels’. I don’t know the names of most of them. The most intricate patterns come out of a book, I believe called ‘Jones; studies in African music’. The ‘melody’ part is a very basic version of something I heard Richard Bona do with his voice and looper. Greetings from The Netherlands

hi, saw your video and i have one question. can you connect the SQ5 USB to PC for 32x32 track recording and still use the same USB port attached to a multi USB hub to get midi in and out too while using the recording option through the same usb port?
@johanaben11 ай бұрын
That , I am not sure. I do think it will work, but…I had problems/instability with audio interfaces communicating with a computer through a hub . Without a hub, audio ánd MIDI will arrive at the computer just fine through one USB cable . Pickup / manipulate/ pass on your MIDI from the computer ?

Heey Johan, jouw inspirerende. geduldige en duidelijke manier van iemand ritmes leren is ongeëvenaard. Lang geleden een aantal lessen van je gehad op diverse instrumenten. Dank! Nog steeds profijt van! Groetjes, Ellen

Getting rid of unwanted low end is very important. The HPF of our SQ is a good tool for this job. But every filter does more than just ‘filter’. The phase gets shifted also. Using an app on the iPad , gives a nice visual feedback of what is happening. Link to the used app: auSCOPE X van auDSPr apps.apple.com/nl/app/auscope-x/id1524867812 P.S. The phase shift is frequency dependent, and only of influence when somehow it meets a correlated signal of comparable loudness. So no problem; use the HPF ! The experiment was just for learning purposes and fun :)
