No offense but Cairo is trash! And so is their government. (Who would have thought military rule is bad for effective governing?!) Every time you visit Egypt, year by year it feels like the nation is going on a downward spiral! From affordability to making things deliberately hard on people! And because Egypt is run by a band of corrupt thugs who don't want to see the country prosper, there is little the people can do. (Egyptians regret revolting against Mubarak!)

What about the importance of a high quality comprehensive curriculum, especially for those not part of a formal class? Are there any that you know of for MSA that are user friendly for self-study?
@RashadGoesOutside2 ай бұрын
This is very important. To be honest, I don't know many comprehensive online or self-guided courses that are of quality. I linked a few in the video description that are pretty good to get started, but there is a big gap that no one has filled for comprehensive Arabic study since it's not easy at all both logistically and financially to uproot yourself and go to the Middle East to study Arabic. I'll keep an eye out and report back if I find anything.

Excellent content! Finally someone who gets it! I have been learning languages since the 90s and have always advocated taking formal, semester based classes at community colleges or 80-hour per month classes in the countries in which the language is spoken. This is comprehensive and thorough. I cringe when people tell me that they plan to learn mainly with duolingo or Rosetta Stone. It's ok to complement a main comprehensive class with these but to have this as the main means of instruction is denying that language learning requires an excellent foundation. If no comprehensive class is available, I would buy the textbook that the comprehensive class uses and study on my own before I would depend solely on an app.

You never once said the word Africa. Why is that?
@RashadGoesOutside3 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. I was not attempting to distance Egypt from Africa at all; rather, my focus was only on the city of Cairo and its neighborhoods. I also did not mention the "Arab World" or "The Middle East" much at all, and I didn't even mention other large cities in Egypt like Alexandria, Mansoura, Aswan, or Port Said. Larger categories of geography are not relevant to the video. I hope this answers your question.

Egypt is in 2 continents. So why be so petty?
@paratroopergirl40642 ай бұрын
Because I am educated. Don't get angry - get smarter... 😁 Learn a little Albukelan history, then get get back to me. Egypt is situated in the northeastern corner of AFRICA and also has a small portion of its territory in the Sinai Peninsula, which is considered part of Asia. Egypt is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, the Red Sea to the east, Sudan to the south, and Libya to the west...🤣

@RashadGoesOutside5 ай бұрын
@holistikaspa3075 sounds like a great plan! Are you thinking of retiring in Cairo specifically or somewhere else in Egypt? The reason I ask is Cairo can be extremely hectic and may not be the average person's ideal retirement environment. That may be exactly what you're looking for (I don't know you), but I wanted to bring it up to be clear. If you're looking for a more laid back environment, Dahab or somewhere in the Sinai might be good to consider as well. Thanks for watching:)

@RashadGoesOutside5 ай бұрын
I don't know the Narges Villas area, but Rehab is nice. I knew some people who lived in Rehab and they liked it. It's pretty enclosed, so there are lots of things nearby, and it's not as chaotic as more central parts of Cairo. When I've visited Rehab by car at night, the traffic to get in was pretty bad as there are gates. It depends on where you work. Like I said in the video, I highly advise you to live close to where you work.

Where can you find $85 to $100 apartments at do you know any names of apartments and locations also what website is good to search for any good apartments
@RashadGoesOutside7 ай бұрын
It might be pretty hard to find them that cheap, but best bet is to join expat groups or non expat groups posting for furnished apartments. It helps to know people there. People are going to charge more for a foreigner probably. Your best bet is to find people to split an apartment in downtown or Abdeen or nasr city maybe.
@mariabradshaw42897 ай бұрын
@@RashadGoesOutside oh ok Egypt is not cheap? Are there some for 200 or $300
@RashadGoesOutside7 ай бұрын
Yes, but quality of the accomodation ranges a lot. There are lots of Facebook groups in Arabic that have apartments for rent listed. My advice would be to check those out, and if you can't read Arabic, find someone to help you out who can. The ideal scenario is you know someone in Cairo who can find you a place. @@mariabradshaw4289
