Laughing, the video cut out halfway through your explanation! What is the right size fishing line?
@iwannaapple719011 күн бұрын
Ohh, lol. To be honest with you I haven't even watched it. I just recently found this and posted it from about 4 or 5 years ago. 30 pound fishing line is best. It will never break and even cuts melt & pour and glycerin smoothly. If you see my other videos you can see where doing it this way is better. Thanks for asking and watching. That meant a lot to me.

Hey! Just wanted to say thank you for sharing the videos of your soap cutter. I'm going to try making one, wish me luck!

Good luck! I'm glad you like the idea. And thank you for the first compliment I've ever gotten. Use 30 pnd fishing line. It will never break and you can cut anything. I have 10 of them I'm working on in the shop.

twas amazing seeing you cut a already cured soap and the string not snapping. interesting video👌

Thanks :) Fishing line works really well in certain applications. I made this one for a customer in Florida but my personal soap cutter has never broken a line. It cuts much smoother. Since it cuts smoother it will easily slice through melt & pour soap. I haven't tried it on glycerin soap but I'm pretty sure it will cut through without scarring the surface like wire does (if it doesn't break?). Thank you very much for watching.

Fascinating invention! I’ve been dogged down by how bulky most slab cutters are and how complicated. For my small operation this is ingenious!

Well, thank you very much. I make soap myself and wasn't satisfied with what I had bought so I decided to make something that would cut straight soap. They are very accurate and can cut every thing including melt & pour and even that hard cocoa butter out of the bag. I make and can customize them for anybody that wants one. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate that.

This is the second video I've watched of your soap cutter. The first one you mentioned your Etsy shop name is organic beauty but I searched for it on Etsy and couldn't find it. So I came to this video thinking you might have a link to your Etsy shop. But, I'm not seeing a link. It would be good for you to add a link to your video for ease of finding your shop. Thank you!

Thanks for watching at least? Not everyone is trying to make a buck off of KZbin leading a glamorous life. I work too much for that. But, if you want a great bar of soap that makes you rub your forehead and say "D*#mn" then thats me. I just like to make it because it makes people feel good. Thats just what I do.

What’s sadder is you making a comment like that on this lovely man’s video. I’m guessing you know nothing about soap or you would see that he has designed something that is quite ingenious and fills a gap in the soap cutting market and that is also beautifully simplistic, practical and user friendly. To the man who made this video, have you thought of contacting some of the bigger soaping KZbinrs and asking if they would like to try your cutter? Katie from Royalty Soaps is absolutely lovely. If she tries it and likes it she may do a nice little review and demonstration on her channel. You could offer to do a giveaway to one of her viewers and or a coupon code if people want to order one from you?

I am looking for a single soap cutter that doesn’t have that screw in the middle. Let us know when you make them!
@iwannaapple71902 жыл бұрын
What screw? The ones I make cut everything but I don't know what screw in the middle your talking about? The only thing that could be considered a screw is not actually a screw. They are used to secure the walls and they are held down by wing nuts. By loosening one side, the wall can be slid in and out to adjust the height. Then just slide the wall back to tighten the string and your done. It takes about 45 seconds to change heigh with less aggravation to cut soap. I have one now I am working on. Very nice. It has Jesus's praying hands on it. I look at it every day waiting. Oh yeah, the "screws" also allow the walls to be taken off very easily and stored so it doesn't take up much space. Thanks for the question. If your interested, let me know.
@iwannaapple71902 жыл бұрын
On normal soap cutters there is a screw that tightens the wire. Are you talking about that? If so, no. There is no screw that tightens the wire. That is why one wall slides back and forth and that is what tightens the line. I use fishing line because it is cheap. The role lasts a life time and its strong enough to cut melt & pour, glycerin soap and regular lye soap without leaving scars in the soap. On my personal cutter I have yet to break a line.

I used this soap cutter and this is the most amazing soap cutter I've ever used this is the only one I need because I can cut my Loaves and my bars and he's right about this that guitar string will tear up your soap because it leaves these nasty lines down your soap but the fishing line that he puts on the soap Cutters they don't do that it's like a very smooth finish and he also does such a good job at building these soap Cutters they are extremely sturdy and it looks like he uses very high quality wood and the best part was he would burned my logo into my soap cutter and it looks so fantastic said thank you very much for building mine I'm very much appreciated it has been a true game-changer for me
@southernmom15063 жыл бұрын
Your soap cutter is absolutely awesome. It cuts through soap like butter. Even the melt and pour. I bought it about a month ago and it's the best soap cutter I've used . I highly recommend it. Thanks iwannaapple.

Thank you for sharing you video. I’m a new soap maker and this would help me a lot. If you can where can I get this spreadsheet?
@iwannaapple71905 жыл бұрын
Your welcome. I was once new to soaping too so I gathered all the information I could and put it together the way you see here. It has helped me a great deal. I used it 3x today in fact. You can find it on Etsy by searching for "lye calculator". I am the only one... Yeeaa. Or you can click the "Show more" under the description of the video and click that link. It does not show the soap qualities (for now) but for everything else...it will do. I also have another short video on it showing how to price match your soap to your customers using the spreadsheet. If you get it, I really really hope it helps you. I worked pretty hard in the design of it just for that purpose.
@iwannaapple71905 жыл бұрын
I just wanted to respond one more time since you are new to soap making; I dont know if I made it clear in the video but their is water & Lye values and there is 50/50 premix water and lye. PLEASE don't confuse the two. Some people premix water and lye some people don't so I included both. If you don't premix your lye 50/50 then don't use that portion. Just use the water & lye rows. I would love to hear if it helps by the way. Thanks, bye

@@iwannaapple7190 I find this very complicated and difficult to use and it is prone to creating errors. I have found SoapCalc is an all in one package easy to use . this one is just a spreadsheet with very basic connections to formula's. You should have really bench tested it instead of showing how badly contructed it is.
