Doesn't exist on the original version. Tribune song is the original, Kite from Just like vinyl is the new version where there's a breakdown.

There is a This Town Needs Guns song that has a similar sound to this called And I'll Tell You For Why. Like it even also has natural harmonics like this one has. Not sure which one came first though.

Only just the rhythm and the general direction of the guitar riff. I dont think it's fair to call it a ripoff. Definitely influenced, but it's hard not for your influences to leak into your sound sometimes. Sometimes more sometimes less
