yo, what a good drum sampling machine i can get? i've been doing some research but I can't seem to ge ta definitive answer. is it all preference or do you have one you can recommend for people who are just starting. would really love to know! also I love your big flipper album
@mobyvic4046 ай бұрын
Whats good?! I recommend any modern mpc, access to all kinds of drum sounds/samples and the sequencer is awesome to learn. It wont only be your drum machine but your workstation altogether
@delt15956 ай бұрын
Hi, if you are just starting go with the SP404 MKII, you will be able to add FX like saturation distortion or compression on your drums right away and it sounds really good and crunchy. MPCs are great too but can be a little hard to understand at first, they have their own workflow depending of the JJOS you will get which is the operative system, so some have features others dont have, especially concerning the MPC 2000XL and 1000 thats one thing to keep in mind, also you need to pay to upgrade or change JJOS. MPCs are great but they don't come with a lot of FX (maybe the newest versions idk they dont interest me i only fuck with the old ones), SP404mkII come with 42 FX, thats right and they sound dope and will be very fun to use in a live situation, you can resample them as much as you want and you can chain up to 4 FX at once, very powerful. Memory cards for the MPC can be hard to find (again im talking about the MPC 2000XL and the 1000 or older versions) and will require an adapter to read them and import your samples into/from your computer, SP404 mkII works with SD cards which pretty much any modern mac or pc tower will have, easy peasy. SP404 MkII can also be a workstation altogether its not just a sampler especially since last updates, it has not one but 2 different ways to record patterns in the sequencer that allow you to find your best workflow. It can be a looper, let you play samples chromatically and play chords, all that an MPC can do to, just differently. Sizewise the SP404 MKII is much smaller than an MPC and it can work on batteries so you can have fun with it literally anywhere... what else...? To finish i would say that both the SP and the MPCs will involve a lot of menu diving but once you've passed that learning curve you are going to have so much fun. I would pick up an MPC only if you have several synthesizers and want to enjoy more midi flexibility, or separate audio outputs (MPC 2000 XL can be upgraded to have 8 outputs, MPC1000 have 4) If you want an all in one device with stunning fx, with the ability to put it in a bag and take it anywhere with you, go with the SP404 MKII. Peace.

Sp808 is my favourite sampler, shame the Zip disk let it down, that thing with a card reader would be lethal This is some sloppy work though… not coherent in anyway, don’t use the gear to garner interest that otherwise wouldn’t be there…

@mobyvic4046 ай бұрын
SP808 is fantastic, just running through it youre able to pitch in real time, which is my favorite feature. Resampling on it is awesome as well, helps if I need high passing, etc before I chop on the 2000. There is only 1 reliable cf card reader that works on the 808 though and becoming exceedingly rare. Thanks!
