This is from a year ago, and I've just been recommended it. Not done watching, but it truly feels like a blessing from The Cursed Algorithm, especially considering I do not really watch things related to The Walking Dead. Very shocking to see that this is the only video you're made so far, but if you truly are still working on future parts, I am excited to see them. I can easily see myself returning <3

Just found this channel, stoked as hell for the next retrospective. Think I might have to buy the compendiums myself. Loved the TV show for a long time but I guess just never realized how dramatically different the comic book would be. Just a little thing for the next video, the between chapter music is significantly louder than your voice, if possible it would be great to have the volume equalized as long videos like these are great for while going to sleep, but also just generally found it a little jarring. Overall absolutely great video, can't wait for the next one.

I met Kirkman in an Albuquerque comic book shop in 2008. I was in Albuquerque visiting my sick grandma who was in the hospital. I happened to see a comic book shop near by and went to pick up the latest volume of the walking dead. When I walked in I went straight for the the walking dead. I was flipping thru it when Kirkman tapped me on the shoulder and said “I wrote that”. It was surreal and he signed a few comics I picked up. Still have those comics. My grandma ended up recovering too. He was very nice

I don’t agree with the take on tyreese in the fight with rick especially with how big of a hypocrite rick was when trying to call tyreese out on being a murderer infront of members of the group while knowing he shot dexter and tried to cover it up. Also when he was going to kill otis for basically the samething tyreese killed chris for and the only reason he didn’t was because carl was still alive and otis could help save him. Other than that i loved the video hope you continue on the rest of the volumes!
@gothzombie8 ай бұрын
Thanks dude! After a long break, I’ll actually finally get back into writing the next video very soon. You’re certainly right that there’s a lot of hypocritical statements getting thrown around on both sides in the Rick & Tyreese fight scene. Neither are acting at their best, but I still think the core of Rick’s concerns (that Tyreese isn’t caring about the group in the same way he is, emblematic in how he shatters Carol’s fragile feelings so carelessly) is far stronger than the blatantly wrong argument Tyreese is trying to make that Rick doesn’t care for the group/enjoys killing people. They’re both right and wrong in different degrees, but I’d say Rick is “more” right overall.
@comedyshoweekend8 ай бұрын
@@gothzombie okay i respect that view and while tyreese was careless like with the carol situation i think something like that was bound to happen with her character especially with kirkman showing clear signs they weren’t really a good match for eachother to begin with. His actions were bad but like the title of the volume “the heart desires” i think tyreese would’ve left carol for michonne no matter what and with carol being as unstable as she was she probably would’ve reacted the same way no matter how the news was broken to her. And to be fair its been ahwile since i read so i don’t remember everything tyreese does in the later volumes before his death so maybe there is more he did to put the group at jeopardy past these incidents too
@gothzombie8 ай бұрын
@@comedyshoweekend that’s an interesting thought that Carol may have always responded to a breakup in that way, and I could certainly see that being the case, but either way Tyreese certainly didn’t act in a manner that would’ve made matters at least a little easier for Carol. I think he deserves ridicule for committing to that kind of betrayal, but honestly, Carol is not blameless either after not being the mother that Sophia needed the most at that time. Back to Tyreese though, he is much better in the following volumes and is never quite as careless and hypocritical as he is at this point. I think he even somewhat retroactively agrees with Rick when he ultimately accepts him as their leader (something I’ll discuss in the next video). However, as I said in this video, he’s never quite as driven and lively as he was earlier on, and I firmly believe he died right alongside Julie, which I think provides another insight into why he was so frivolous with Carol’s emotions.
@comedyshoweekend8 ай бұрын
@@gothzombie okay yeah definitely agree that he handled the carol situation wrong but still think overall he does care about the group and everyones well being like in volume 5 or 6 when he goes out on his own to look for rick, glenn and michonne after they were kidnapped. Definitely get your view on him also appreciate content and can’t wait for the next vids!
