Wow, what a find. I appreciate this. That was the good old days when the Wisconsin Dells was visited for it's nature instead of all the waterparks.

Relatively few "get" Jimmy Buffett. I was one of the fortunate that did. I feel, for lack of a better word, "blessed" because of it. Thank you Jimmy!

Life in Florida without JB??? Unthinkable! I grew up listening to him... his music makes me smile in a world that tries to take my smile. Gratitude,,, the word is so insufficient to describe how i feel.

To be able to watch this video is a gift. I never even considered The Dells of the 30s before. And the letter boards spliced in to label the scenes add to the charm.

Thanks for that video, I saw my neighbor's truck in his driveway and his opened garage door and the house I sold last February looked intact. Sad for the damage but happy to see that PGI seems to have stood pretty well. Trees can be planted or grown back, people on the other hand are irreplaceable.

How wonderful! I was born and grew up near the Dells. Took those boat trips many times, even last summer. Very enjoyable. Thanks.

Steve, was this a family member's work? I used to work on the boat tours and am fascinated by this. I see it says continued from reel 1. Do you have that too?
@stevezunker3547 жыл бұрын
Corinne M ....not a family member's work. My uncle was cleaning out a house somewhere around Baraboo and found this one reel. I took it to a video processor company and had it transferred to a digital format. No sign of the first reel, unfortunately.
@corinnem7397 жыл бұрын
Steve Zunker thanks for the info. I shared it online with some dells folks and people are so thankful for this. It seems like it could have been some type of promotional material or perhaps someone that just took great pride in his home movies. Do you have any others from the area?
@corinnem7397 жыл бұрын
Also have you contacted anyone in the Dells? I am sure the stewards of the dells or the hh bennet museum would love a copy of this.
@hansoberdiek83197 жыл бұрын
The film was probably shot in the 1920's, as the name of the town ("Kilbourn") was changed to "Wisconsin Dells" in 1931.
