I have to ask, have you never once looked in the scholarship and peer reviewed history on these topics? Because it appears you presume the gospels were written by the disciples when we know that's simply untrue, they were written by anonymous sources who were NOT eye witnesses nor mentioned any of their work was based on any eye witness account.
@Norwichyfc2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment Hugh. Sounds like a great idea for a future video.
@HughJaxident672 жыл бұрын
@@Norwichyfc I agree, thanks for the consideration, I'll look forward to it. On the same note, I would suggest you balance your sources on this topic, only appealing to a biased Christian apologetic appraisal won't cut the mustard, you really need to look at independent secular NT scholarship and historical scholarship on the matter.

Jesus was not a real person. There is literally no contemporaneous evidence that the Bible figure known as Jesus ever existed.
@twitherspoon89542 жыл бұрын
Paul is the sole source of Christianity. When Paul realized that the messiah prophesied in Daniel 9:25 had not come at the appointed time, he made up stories set decades in the past to make the prophecies "fake, but accurate". The fulfillment of the Daniel 9:25 prophecy written in 538 BC was the test of the true messiah. By 60 AD it was known that the prophecy of a messiah coming in "seven weeks and threescore and two weeks" had not occurred on the assigned date. "Seven weeks and threescore and two weeks" is, 7 + 60 + 2 = 69 total weeks. One prophetic week = seven years, so 7 x 69 = 483 total years beginning with the decree given to Ezra by Artaxerxes I in 458 BC and terminating with the baptism of Jesus. So, Paul then wrote stories about a messiah set in time decades earlier to match the prophecy with details matching Jewish expectations from Zechariah 12, "They shall look upon me whom they have pierced". Paul wrote that the messiah was pierced with nails though his feet and wrists and pierced with a spear in his side to make it "fulfilled" -- but it hadn't actually occurred. He then zealously evangelized and built prayer houses based on his fictitious tales. Paul was the myth-maker who wrote more than half of the books of the New Testament that created the faith that became Christianity. Without Paul, Christianity would not exist. Paul wrote more than half of the New Testament books, then the Gospels were written decades after that building on Paul's stories. None of the Gospels were written by witnesses to Jesus; Paul only asserted that he had a vision of him.

@@Norwichyfc _"Most historians disagree with you though."_ Really? I find that surprising. Can you name one? Can you provide any contemporaneous evidence that the Bible figure known as Jesus ever existed?
@twitherspoon89542 жыл бұрын
@@Norwichyfc _"Ah we're sorry you've come to that conclusion."_ According to the Bible: • Jesus was recognized at birth by the entire region as the prophesied messiah. • Distinguished foreigners (Maji) traveled to bear infant Jesus gifts. • King Herod killed all male infants in Jerusalem and surrounding regions in order to eliminate Jesus. • King Herod met Jesus so he could worship him too. • Jesus traveled the region for thirty years. • Jesus performed numerous miracles, calmed a storm, walked on water, and raised the dead. • Whichever city Jesus went to, everyone who touched his clothes were healed, including the paralyzed. • Jesus was arrested and put on trial twice by Governor Pilate. • After the Resurrection, all of the graves opened and the corpses rose out and walked into town and appeared to "many". Yet, there was no contemporaneous memorialization of any of that, in any way. Jesus himself left no archaeological evidence of any kind, such as artifacts, dwellings, works of carpentry, or self-written manuscripts. Even Paul asserts that he only saw him in the spiritual realm (as a bright light). Philo of Alexandria, born twenty years before the purported time of Jesus and died twenty years afterwards, never mentioned him and he was a religious scholar who was aware of the "savior" craze during his lifetime due to the messiah prophesied in Daniel 9:25.
@twitherspoon89542 жыл бұрын
@@Norwichyfc Would you consider it unusual for graves to open and the corpses rise up and walk into town? Wouldn't you think if a baby was recognized as God at birth and met with the king and this God was walking around town for thirty years, performing miracles and raising the dead, that someone would have noticed and documented it?

Lyrics: I keep searching for the answers to my doubts It's like I'm caught between belief and wanting out But there's this promise that my soul just cannot shake That I am loved despite the struggles of my faith . And now that my eyes are open I can see that I am stronger broken You're the mystery that I put my hope in More I seek, the more I find Don't want to live like I'm an orphan with no bed Still I keep searching for a place to rest my head . But I have all I've ever needed Help me trust beyond what I'm not seeing To be content with all this grace You've given In my weakness You are strong . Your grace is my sole sufficiency Your power is made perfect when I'm weak . Just want to shout it out for the world to hear it That I'm His kid no matter what I'm feeling I'm doubting doubts, I just cannot help believing That I am loved no matter what I am loved no matter what!
