The thing is people say that the Hornby turntables not very good but you're stuck with either buying a German thing that is of some people's reach all the Peco turntable but the Peco turntable is alright but that is still Limited . there are things you can do to improve the Hornby one by putting in a rotary switch. so the Hornby one is the best deal for a lot of people because it's affordable. I'll give it give you some advice look after your grandfather because grandfather's are special I lost mine a few years ago and still missing

I like your engine shed a lot the station looks quite good too. breakdown cranes are always good to get and that coach looks really good as well Sir Nigel Gresley Mallard is a really good loco incredible still holds the speed record

Welp just get a new Bachman Thomas model . Mine works just fine Tho if you have the cash to do so . And paint the gap between the wheel arches and side tank black . It makes a world of difference

What hornby could've done is they could have made a Similar 4-4-0 to what Bachmann makes but it look nice The engine just does not have a tender

If possible could you get a bachmann one to compare or wait till Dapol do a new version? Also in the Railway series Olive came to Sodor with an auto coach and later the Fat Controller bought 3 more to have 2 sets.

Rails of Sheffield aren't doing any shows this year according to Jenny Kirk, due to the costs and staffing issues around them

The Flying Scotsman coach as far as I know is limited edition although you could get Hornby LNER teak 4 or 6 wheel coaches to match it. Or Even the Hattons Genesis coaches.
