I used to go there when my dad was flying and he was still until recently, flying the G-BSCL Chipmunk. Went to a christmas party there in the early 80's but got snowed in on the way back to Congleton and stuck in a pub all night at Marton. I was very young then.

8:55 The building to the right of Rumbelows is the National Provincial Bank. My father was manager there around 1960. 9:02 looks like the Barton High Level bridge which carried the then M62 over the Ship Canal. I walked across it when they opened it to pedestrians before it was officially opened to traffic. 12:02 I used to buy my records from The Music Box.

I was a passenger on many of the buses shown here, as from 1956 to 1981, I lived in North Manchester, the area covered by Queen's road Depot, Cheetham. The Leyland Panther Cub (Number 56) shown here went along the route near where I lived from 1964 to 1981 in Higher Blackley. Around the time, the 62 bus shown here went between Heaton Park and Ryebank Road, Chorlton, not the places shown on the destination board. I caught this bus for 7 years, as although I lived in Higher Blackley, North Manchester, I went to school in Whalley Range, South West Manchester. The Transport Museum is a great place to visit.

My grandparents left Lithuania with their children to find a better place to live, and I'm not a bit Irish or on either side of the fence so maybe I don't have a right to say anything, but I know heartbreak and pain when I see it, and evil never does anything good. God bless the Irish.

The building does say "Pump House" on it so that is the name of the video, thanks for the update on what the machine is called though.
@Swiftyon8626 ай бұрын
The engine inside the building at Ashley Green Mining Museum is a Robey tandem compound steam engine. This type of engine was widely used in industrial applications, including mining, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Robey & Co. was known for manufacturing high-quality steam engines and other industrial machinery. A tandem compound steam engine features two cylinders arranged in tandem, which improves efficiency by using steam twice: first in a high-pressure cylinder and then in a low-pressure cylinder.
