I think he calls these doodles because he is a concept artist first - and these illustrations aren't contained by a specific idea or part of any production as he just lets his arm move

Stump Stick = Blending Tool = Tortillon.. happens to be one of my favorite words for odd things we know of, but not familiar with the name, such as an "aglet"... can anyone define what item that is without looking it up?

I'll have to admit, I'm super jealous of the artist that can hone their craft and be compensated for their time as a concept designer. I have to borrow and steal the time to draw from my airbrushing business work. The art I do is tedious and unchallenging, but it's a living I carved out. Most of this artist posts seem unrelated to one another. Yet it shows his cohesiveness on style and work ethic. I really appreciate that you present these artists, and lite a fire under us our arses to be inspired to create more. KUDOS to you DAVIII.. your channel has excellent & relative content!

Great video! Would LOVE if you checked out and did an analysis of the artwork of Sako Toshio (Author of mangas Usogui and Batuque). He has a really unique way of shading among other things in his art that I've been trying to figure out in my own master studies since other mangaka don't exactly match it.

Ive recently been obsessed with her works. Much like you pointed out, the way she shades is very intriguing. Sometimes they contour the character other times it just is a design she seems to like. One heavy inspiration behind Gachiakuta is a 'punky' / 'graffiti' -like aesthetic. Read Gachiakuta. Its amazing, and eye candy for artists.

What always stood out to me was the masery of form in these drawings, you can especially see it in the hair and how defined each grouping is

She prefer to use traditional yes since that's what she's used to.. She worked as a manga assistant previously, ages before digital popularity. She was the assistant and the successor of Atsushi Ohkubo, author of Soul Eater which is her main influence

These give me a real Robert Valley vibe. Maybe you could do a video on him one day. He has some videos on his youtube channel showing how he makes some of his shots and storyboards which is really cool showing the process on how he goes from quick sketches to what he turns it into as a final digital piece of art.

Now this a style I really really like. I'm somewhat to drawing and painting in general and I really enjoy the process. Sometimes I do drawing with and without references. Do you think choosing other artists art as reference is a good practice or I rather keep doing the usual? Nice videos btw I just discovered your channel
