Ideally one of those, but you can use anything that has access to a browser so a laptop would work too for example!

That's correct! Being creators ourselves, it's super important that we give the players the choice of whether their drawing is used for training. While for some it's going to be a definite "No" and that's completely fine! But many have also shown interest in how their drawings may actually evolve the game's challenge over time. We don't want to force players to choose either direction, which is why we built-in this choice mechanic at the end, which will be opt-out on default.

That's totally fair! In truth, Deviation Game was actually the original title for the work and has been quite close to our hearts! The name's origin is a reference to Alan Turing's Imitation Game, but of course instead of the AI fooling humans, it's us fooling the AI! We sadly had to change Deviation Game a year ago in fear of being confused with a once-upcoming game studio with a very similar title, but now we're in a position where we can revert it back to its roots! Also, while having "AI" in the title can be clear, it frankly made us sound like a tech bro company (there's also a company called outlier.ai which is a bit too close for comfort). @Playfool but is the ai built in or is it like how people use 3rd party's like chatgpt which requires always online and if openai servers gose down so dose the software

It’s not chatgpt, it’s a different AI that they made for image recognition and likely running on device

Ah sorry I misunderstood your question. It is using an API so it does require to be online for the AI functionality, as well as the server to handle the rooms and iPhone connectivity. We hope to provide multiple AI models for people to try and compare in the future, so there should (hopefully) always be at least one online to play the game. We may also implement a smaller backup model, but the game will become noticeably dumber so it’s not ideal! In the future, we hope to eventually train our own model which can run entirely locally.

basically, some artists put filters that confuse ai image generators. so that when an art stealer tries to put their work into one, it confuses the ai, making the ai generated image incomprehensible.

well how? you only have the color black, also the humans have to guess right as well

you're not uploading a image to the game, then sending it to the ai, you're drawing the picture in the game it self
