Got the kit in honor of my late father who at 17 joined the Navy served on an LSM-430, which was commissioned Feb 45 this ship I believe Sep 1944 so pretty close. Converting Revell to Tamyia paints can;t wait to start. Just looking for the correct Hull numbers

Thanks for this. I hear that there are massive join problems with hull pieces etc with this kit. How did you get around those? Thanks again.
@ghkmodels13 күн бұрын
You're welcome, thanks for your interest ! 🙏🙂 The only need is to fill the rear section, the vertical joint. The joint along the hull matches the waterline, and the vertical joint on the bow corresponds to the black section of the sonar array 😉 I managed to fill them all but finally, there's no need for it. If the gaps are too big, start filling them with stretched sprue 😉 Hope this helps ! @nirvana3077628 күн бұрын
@ Haha i do have an eye for the detail 😃 Ps it’s an amazing idea and looks definitely way better in practice than any branded overpriced items.If it’s not a secret,could you reveal how you made such precise cut/hole for cement bottle?🌞
@ghkmodels26 күн бұрын
@@nirvana30776 I must admit that I don't remember exactly. I had to first make a cross using a hobby knife, then I cut out the 4 pieces. The sponge is flexible, it will take the shape of the cement bottle. The hole must be slightly smaller than the bottle. For more safety, you need 3 to 4cm of sponge around the bottle, and when using it, bring the sponge up to the bottom of the bottle (which I don't do anymore... 🤪). The bottle cannot then tip over enough for the cement to flow ! Hope this helps !
@nirvana3077626 күн бұрын

Hello GHK John here fm New Zealand I agree with the first four comments whole heartedly, no doubt about you sir your better than good . I love this one and always been intrigued with Nelson and Rodney just because they're different I guess , with accommodation aft and three main guns forward. A change to see your initials next to a skimmer and not a sub 😳 love the PE touch sets it off and the setting , I agree again , looks like a picture bloody awesome I like also the Western Approach colours I intend to do this scheme on 1:350 Queen Elizabeth I've just got (Trumpeter) and also the 1:350 HMS York (Trumpeter) It's a nice change from what shade of Gray will I use. Buddy can't say much more , the Nelson is a definite credit to you along with all the other credits 😊 There's no doubt I'm looking forward to seeing the next one. Regards John Fast
