Can't hear the ending song without imagining the cultists doing a choreographed dance number. Loved this!

It was our editor Kaitlin's first attempt at an effect like that, even more tricky doing it under a time crunch. So thank you so much!!

Entertaining. Good special effects. Like the zooming. Angel wings and upsidedown visor cheesy. Expressive acting.

This was damn good (and in 48 hours?) the make up progression was great, the concept great as well. I saw a comment about the acting. I didn't see an issue. Son/daughter are dead...how lively should they be? Curious about the father...assuming he'd dead, but not present because...did she have less guilt over him? Also I'm assuming she was drunk at the time considering how she thinks a bottle of wine is single serving...All around great job

Ok...pausing the film just cuz I want it on record that @ 2:56 the daughter is all made up, lookin' like she should. Then @ 3:07, *WHAM* she's all grey and not a stitch of make-up?! *PS* Son is looking like death warmed over too! Betting the kids are no longer, ahem, "with us"? Am I right? Going to find out! BRB! So, should I do my "Told Ya So" dance? LMAO! But, I did like it! A little predictable, but I like the premise.

Good stuff but I have two critical comments about it. First is that the dad died by a truck but we get no explanation on the dead kids? Or did I miss it? And why wasn't dad present? Second comment is that she "had" to take the call because it might be from work, then when she answered and it was from work, she said leave me alone and hung up. Then why need to take a call from work? Just so you can hang up?
@DGneoseeker15 жыл бұрын
I think "dad" survived, since as she said, if something was wrong with him (i.e. he was dead) he'd be visiting with the kids. Probably just left her because she was acting crazy.

I liked the idea behind this short, and the makeup jibs were excellent. I have to say the acting was a total let down. I hope to see another short of yours in the future, you had a very original idea for a story.

I have seen tons of amateur films. I think this one is original, fresh, and well done, and the big surprise to me was that while it is a "horror/scary" film, it is also very touching. Thumbs up, Film Vandals.

I really like the cinematography on this, what camera did you use? Was it handheld or did you use a gimbal...the story was awesome, the progression of their makeup was awesome, and the pacing was perfect, really enjoyed this! If you have some time come check out our latest short The Residuum and give us some feedback!

Thank you for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it - we'll for sure return the favor and check yours out. Regarding your questions, it was handheld for everything but the table scenes - those were set up on sticks. We did have a little tripod mounted jib, and that's what we used for the exterior shots. And we running on a Canon 60D for this one. I'll pass on your compliments to our cinematographer! :)

I bet you guys watched a lot of Ren and Stimpy back in the day. Instead of having the main character say, "Yeah... and I hate learning" at the end, I would have had him say... "yeah... I guess you'd call this a real coming of age story"
