Near death brings us to the songs in spirit. Some of the best I ever wrote came from such a place of truth. Beautiful song. Thank you for sharing. ❤

Beautiful guitar. I owned a Larrivee L-05 (Sitka/Mahogany) at the same time as a Gibson J-45. They sound completely different. Different scale length, also the different (Larrivee parallel) bracing, etc. Both wonderful guitars, both sounded great.

Nice raw sounding tune David. Love it.

Sounds good David! Where did you guys record this one at?

The nice thing about these guitars is you can own a vintage American-made guitar and if a good luthier can do the needed mods to make these guitars so much better which usually includes a neck reset, braces being shaved down, fret replacement and or leveling of these make awesome sounding guitars. After the work has been done you can usually score these from 700 to 1000. Beautiful sounding sleeper type acoustic!

I love stories of how people find great instruments here there and everywhere. Bill Monroe's F5 mandolin and other stories such as Ricky Skaggs Lloyd Loar F5 mandolin. I agree with the felling you have when a guitar under your arm feels 'just right'. That's a lovely guitar all round. Thanks

Had a 36 L-00 loved it and it’s thicker V neck. Traded it for a Santa Cruz H model. I know have a 1930 L-1. Same body shape but neck is slimmer and it’s super light even compared to the L-00. Still miss the L-00 but the L-1 is outstanding and much rarer. If you get a chance, try one. You will not be disappointed 👍oh yeah Gibson just introduced a Custom Shop version of the L-00 with a torrified top. So there’s potential for a good/old sounding L-00 again but honestly you’d pay about as much for that as he original so get the real thing.

Dearly love the Larrivee L Series in a variety of configurations. My beauty's a Maple SC- 09 with a Florentine cutaway. Superlatives fail. Still hope to own a Jumbo as well.

Nice! I know this song. Did you know that Bob Dylan was friends with Keith Green? He made great songs as well that are worth checking out. He sadly died in a plane crash in 1982.

I think it would be interesting to discuss how Bedell fine tunes the frequency of the top and back of the guitars and how that compares to Martin and Gibson and some of the other builders.
