George Harrison didn't care much for Neil Young. He later said that when Young was playing his solo, George looked at Eric Clapton with a frown and Eric just shrugged his shoulders.

Eric Clapton's solo is so laid back so elegant, so masterful. In this wonderful song and amazing cast of musicians it is this piece of brilliance that brings me back again and again.

the most important are the lirycs and the message IT IS not a self REGRET after a time of what he though when he was REALLY younger .. BECAUSE the clear contradiction in song is (Iwas older then) I am YOUNGER NOW . This means that NEW AGE is not so COMBATIVE against INJUSTICE..the youths now rest under the trees.. in a big proportion
@RandalSterling15 күн бұрын
@@eduardomaglio1345 interesting take on it. I believe it’s about how morality seems so simple when you’re younger. Right and wrong are much more obvious in youth. But time and events wear down the edges of our self righteousness. And we look back and say, “I was wiser then in my innocence..” Just my take.

Rock music from the sixties and seventies was on a whole other level, musical expansion and excellence seemed was normal at the time and this performance is just one example of the era. Talented musicianship, lyrics, solo and harmony voices, and star power. One might be asked, “Were they really so good or are you biased?” Put this on the playlist.

This performance is a masterpiece. I turn 70 in November and grew up with the best music ever. McGuinn, Harrison and Petty are the reasons I bought a Rickenbacker electric 12-string some years ago. My favorite instrument. My favorite musicians. This is REAL music that has meaning.

WRITTEN BY: BOB DYLAN Crimson flames tied through my ears Rollin’ high and mighty traps Pounced with fire on flaming roads Using ideas as my maps “We’ll meet on edges, soon,” said I Proud ’neath heated brow Ah, but I was so much older then I’m younger than that now Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth “Rip down all hate,” I screamed Lies that life is black and white Spoke from my skull. I dreamed Romantic facts of musketeers Foundationed deep, somehow Ah, but I was so much older then I’m younger than that now Girls’ faces formed the forward path From phony jealousy To memorizing politics Of ancient history Flung down by corpse evangelists Unthought of, though, somehow Ah, but I was so much older then I’m younger than that now A self-ordained professor’s tongue Too serious to fool Spouted out that liberty Is just equality in school “Equality,” I spoke the word As if a wedding vow Ah, but I was so much older then I’m younger than that now In a soldier’s stance, I aimed my hand At the mongrel dogs who teach Fearing not that I’d become my enemy In the instant that I preach My pathway led by confusion boats Mutiny from stern to bow Ah, but I was so much older then I’m younger than that now Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats Too noble to neglect Deceived me into thinking I had something to protect Good and bad, I define these terms Quite clear, no doubt, somehow Ah, but I was so much older then I’m younger than that now.

Indeed, in fact it was after they’d recorded Revolver. I’m sure that after recording Tomorrow Never Knows, Eleanor Rigby and the rest that they were fed up of having to answer inane questions after a concert singing Long Tall Sally to teenagers who weren’t even listening.
