i found a version of the "I see the moon" prayer in a 1915 book on Romanian folklore, it goes as follows: "New moon, you found me in good health, now leave me in good health". There's also the myth that the moon is inhabited by Cain and Abel, which is why werewolves (which are seen as the "hounds of God") often attempt to eat it. it's also ill advised to look over your left shoulder at night, not solely at the moon, it's thought that the left shoulder is where the devil dwells.

Christopher Lee is a very shrewd, wise man, so when he talks you listen . Your soul is the single most valuable thing you own, and the only thing you can take with you. I wasted 6 years of my life in the occult, I did lose myself and only turning to God did I regain myself. Please stay away from the occult, no it will not “make you smarter so you can protect yourself” The occult is pure evil. This man was such a huge fan of Tolkien that he knelt before him when Tolkien walked into the Eagle and Child pub in Oxford in the 1950s. Lee said he almost fell off his chair. He read The Lord of the Rings every year. He knew the difference between good and evil (as did Tolkien) and no doubt experienced both in good measure. The power of good will ultimately triumph over evil and yet so many people find evil things alluring and thrilling. It is so unbelievably foolish to dabble in such things. Either it is extremely dangerous or a complete waste of time.
