This is a GT3 Cup….more highly strung than the 996 GT3 road car (mk1 & 2)….i believe that the car must be idled for 20 mins before the ECU will allow it to be driven? …..never seen a 996 Cup road registered unlike former 993 and 964… Superb driving skills….wonderful to see such skill with heel and toe downshifting…..modern Porsche manual box blips it for you now (since 991 model)….wheres the fun 🤷🏻

not an rsr the rsr is a sequential this is manual so its probably an r or rs

@lobzdik GT3 Cup: Stripped out version of GT3 RS streetcar. Modifications include: Roll cage, Sequential Dogleg Gearbox, etc. GT3 RSR: More powerful version of the Cup. Modifications include a seamless downshifting sequential gearbox, much more. The Cup races only in the Porsche Carrera Cup Series. And older Cup models can race in GT3 Series. GT3 RSR is mainly raced in LMS and other Endurance Races. Also in GT3 Class. Source: Uncle is a GT3 Cup racing driver, a racing car fan myself.

Love the sound of these RSR's. Hes getting some oversteer in to some of the corners though. But still love it!

Seems like hes using a H Pattern Gearbox. Its not a sequential gearbox. 6 gears I think

He is not even close to being "out of control"... LOL. Sebring is a rough track, the car is obviously setup a little loose, and we don't know anything about tires/pressure/temps or time of day. I believe it's Leh Keen driving.

Dude ,we are talking about the 996 series. I know the 930 RSR (2.1 Turbo) was launched in '73. Jesus....

No i'm not entirely. I misseplaced the year. So a 2002 GT3 RS is based on a Mk.1 1999 GT3 ,the first street 996 GT3. Check the headlights. The R and RS of 2002-2004 are the same cars only named differently for class regulations/championship.

This is a 2004 GT3-R not an RSR. The RSR cam out in 2005. Good vid though! ;)
