It isn't really an exploit and it can't really be fixed without making the AI stupid in other ways. When Alex saw a video of my escapades with Doom, he made the AI ignore mines for longer, but this meant Tessaracts would moonwalk into mines.

@@scorbiot You can't ignore mines. Here are two ways to deal with them. Either you move out of range or if you have to go through it you point the shield at it and go through it. Otherwise if you are still in range when it is about to detonate you point the shield at it. Overall the current strategy the AI employs is absolutely stupid. And also it only works that way with ships with Omni-shields. Because ships with fixed shields actually work well.

Ships with frontal shields don't really have a choice how to deal with mines. Apex is difficult, but not impossible to deal with.

@@scorbiot Apex has drones and you can spawn mines right on top of them to immediately detonate the mine and damage the ship in the process. Doom rly excels against carriers but that is besides the point. You said frontal ships dont have a choice. But they do. You either move out of range or you go through it even if you have a frontal shield you have to make that decision. And that decision has to be made based on some factors like: Are you retreating? Is the mine in your path? Can you turn to face the shield to it without being destroyed? If no, then move out of range of the mine that is closest to explode. Or if you in a neutral stance: Are you in range of the mine? Can you move out of range in time? A lot of conditions have to be properly made to make the AI properly react to mines.

Nah, no way I am getting rid of Paragon. It's insanely good. I would rather get rid of Conquest to get Medusas, but then again, it's not like I need to, since Conquest didn't do much in the first place.

If typhoons wanted to be on the Doom, then maybe they should be good and not just alright.

I don't think it would be a good video. I am not a good teacher and a lot of game knowledge and skills I have are instinctual to me. I just "know" what to do and what's a good idea.

Ye, the challenge was for him to destroy the entire fleet almost alone. What he could upgrade on is his own skills. He could have used Elite combat endurance to get more Hull

It can only get 2 proximity charge launchers, which is less than half of what a regular Legion can bring.

80% is quite simple .. use weapons which have a good alpha strike so you can do decent dmg despite cloacking a lot (sometimes even BECAUSE of it; hint hint phase anchor) don't bring yourself into situations where you're overwhelmed surrounded (which is a generality for almost all ships) learn to somewhat effectively position yourself to either attack a weakspot or make the enemy expose a weakspot to your allies because you threaten them the rest ist just get used to it and once you're familar with everything, develop tactics and or a feeling for when to do what .. so just more learning by doing :)

Centurions are decent distractions. They might not do much damage, but they also don't die easily. If you have a fleet that is vulnerable to flanking, they tend to occupy flankers' attention long enough that you can focus on just fighting what's in front of you. I haven't used Medusa lately, I don't know if it's good in this version. It used to be a decent general destroyer. It could catch up to smaller ships and it can brawl with bigger ships, if given support. You probably want accelerated shields on it, because phase skimmer forces pulls them down on every use.

@@scorbiot Medusa in patch 0.97 is a great escort destroyer for any capital, don't forget to build in an escort module so that it can tank even more. As a ship on its own, it's mediocre in AI hands due to its thin armor and short attack range of medium energy slots. In player hands, it's a deadly weapon for everything except capitals, but it can easily deal with them with a little support. This is one of the main contenders for installing an omega weapon, but even with a regular weapon in the player's hands, you can be incredibly effective. I see 2 builds. Ion Pulser and Mining Blaster with built-in extended magazines, this option is a good fit for replacing the Mining Blaster with a Cryoflamer. Or 2 phase lances with optics. Lances are better for AI. No. It has a regular medium flak cannon. This video is from a very old version of Starsector and the sound is different, which might be why you're confused.

It does extend the phase skimmer range, even if that's not intuitive. It makes Radiant even more mobile, on top of extra charge and faster charge regeneration.
