Edd Michael was the best fiddler I ever had the pleasure of playing music with. He was quite a character; some loved him some didn't, but to me he was an interesting and intellengent individual and I thought a lot of him!

Lee with hair and no hat...lol! I am a fairly recent fan of these guys, seeing them for the first time in 2016 in Montana. They've come a long way since this but Eric's still got that high lonesome voice and I thought these guys reminded me of the Everly Brother from first hearing them and still do. It's cool to see Mike Barber still on the upright with them after all these years. I was bummed to hear that Jessie Brock left the band but it was cool that I got the chance to meet them all. They were really cool after the show at Montana State University Billings' Cisel Hall and hung out and took pictures with me and signed their "In The Ground" CD for me. I got the t-shirt too, which I still wear today and I play that CD at least a couple of times a week. I have Sirius XM in my car and listen to Bluegrass Junction all the time and it's really cool to hear these guys on there every now and then and think back to that great show and getting to hang out with them and all.

Saw Nick, Chris, Gary and Steve Nash last weekend at Nicks place, everyones doing well. Joe Delillo is still active playing bass for the Cornfed Dogs. Steve Gary and Chris are in different bands now and Nick still fronts Shady Creek.

Am I the only one out there struggling with learning the banjo❓... hope there is hope... hard to get both hands working together and of course the other stuff... I REALLY want to learn... suggestions ❓for strugglers and will it finally click😱❓❓I don’t do well with paperwork etc...any suggestions... 🤦🏼♀️ I have a beautiful banjo👍🏻😢
@donalddepoy56985 жыл бұрын
No! Seems that lots of folks struggle to play the banjo. Hope is not the answer to getting your hands and fingers to work together. It takes TIME and some slow gains and then fast gains. No magic lesson to make anything instant. I HATE tablature! Keep practicing! Limit the time you practice (20minutes seems right). if you can, leave the banjo out and picks at the ready. Got 5 minutes to kill pick up the banjo and just hold it and get comfortable pick a few easy rolls and chords. When you mind wanders time to go do something else. Come back when it feels go to be with your beautiful banjo. I am going to post a new lesson 1 to see if it might help. Here is the link to the old one maybe you can get something that helps even thought it's backwards-- I was shot and posted by a student long ago.... Don't give up playing discouraged is normal -- d kzbin.info/www/bejne/f36UgplvlMSbl68

Donald DePoy WOW👏🏻.. Thank you so much for that needed encouragement‼️🙋🏼♀️I wasted quite a bit of money on a teacher that was doing the paperwork etc...It’s like part of it goes over my head ...And when you lose me I kind of zone out... But God has certainly blessed me to play the piano for years and has given me a good ear for music... thanks again and hearing those birds in the background on your video was really nice👍🏻 I also subscribed...🤓

Good stuff. Knowing your way around the neck is essential to playing good, interesting back-up, and, of course, up the neck breaks. You covered the "gotta know its" very well. The ending lick you did on Lonesome Road Blues is called "the screeching halt" (usually done sliding from 3rd st./2nd fret into oblivion up the neck, before applying the breaks on the 1st st. Earl did it a lot. End of his Foggy Mtn. Breakdown, I think.) Easy to do for you beginners out there, if interested.
