Thank You So Much, for posting this episode with Ben Thomas!!! I love following and learning, more about the mindset and life path of individuals, who are so focused and committed to a craft, that it becomes second nature to them. Dedicated to daily improvement, through expanding knowledge and accumulating learned experience. All of the iconic individuals, in any field, have this mindset in common. In addition to these traits, Ben Thomas is personable and communicates his thoughts, concepts, and ideas, simply and effectively. He will be an icon, with a long-lasting legacy in audio and beyond. Exactly the person we need as a mentor, to develop the mindset of greatness.

Coming more from a self-producing artist perspective, a lot of these nuggets are transferable. Some of them just need to be flipped on their head, like reaching out to up and coming producers to make remixes of my work. Hmm, thinking about it now. Abi be interested to hearing what you do with a very British sounding Ska, Punk, Garage Rock track 🤔

Good Show. I had an opportunity to intern for Leslie in 2003. What he speaks is 100% true. Was a great experience that shaped me to the studio owner that I am today.

s.o to LESLIE for always being a humble and practical role model to learn from and look up too . I know you are a real and pure teacher . because you saw the value in this up and coming platform to share quality BASICS! you care about the future of our ART , and course correcting before we cross the perverbial rubicon . all this new technology where musically we can do ANYTHING WE WANT . there are new beautiful economic models for our industry that are being developed. we have an opportunity to step into a new golden age of the music industry. but if the work force is untrained on the fundamentals it means NOTHING. great gems as ALWAYS. your neon guts mix breakdown unlocked a mental door for me and was a significant marker in my process of becoming a PRO ENGINEER. ( BTW NEON GUTS IS STILL MY FAVORITE MIX OF YOURS !)

Amazing Abi. Shout out to you and the homie Leslie. He is a beast. Me and him started out of the same studio in Atl. Both of us were blessed to be under the watchful eye legendary Mix Engineer Alvin Speights rest in peace to him and Dallas Austin and I was with Joyce Irby and Man. We learned so much in that place. I love seeing where he’s gone with his career and I love that you chose to do this interview with him great work.

Dont do drums..do an instrument like a acoustic or electric guitar,or a vocal. I cant stand snares with a bunch of reverb tail on them.

He reminds me of every person-mechanic, athlete, architect, etc.-who's confident in their craft because they put in honest time and effort. Solid interview on both sides... though, I have to admit I was more broken up about the Fairchild revelation than I should've been... and still am.

Those vocals are so out of tune it makes it hard to enjoy the reverb on them. I own the plugin and it sounds cool, but this demo is not the best.
